2.) its sharp
3.) its knife-like
4.) Shinkurou inherited it from Houzuki clan
5.) they "installed it" into him
6.) he refuses to use it even when he was getting pwned (which is contradictory from earlier episodes)

Besides what we already know from animu, we don't know:

1.) Why it comes out like a unwanted erection sometimes
2.) So its a blade...what's so special about it? Its just like any other knife/sword. Big deal.
3.) Is it part of his bone or something?
4.) Everyone in Huozuki clan have it ?

2. its a hidden weapon that he can use to defense himself, its just like smth he dun need to bring weapon anywhere.

1. When he kena pwn by thugs in early episodes...it came out suddenly. He even hate it when it come out, holding his hand trying to control it. It doesn't come out based on his will.

1)according to anime, it came out twice (iirc) once is when murasaki follow Shinkurou n got beaten by the thug which lead to erecting the horn, 2nd is Benika got stabbed. so pretty much we can guess why it came out. possiblity uncontroled rage/hatred etc. (well i think hes bout to erect the horn in 1st eps as well)
2) well i dunno, as far as i know, he got his entire body structure changed when hes under Houzoki. n he pretty much can take 9mm bullet (without having the horn erected to deflect the bullet) so, it more than a horn in him. n the horn probably a weapon to kill as Houzoki is assassin clan after all.
3) dunno, but my guess is, its should be part of his body de.

heck even in the animu the voice over was by some chick (IINM someone experienced but it slipped off my mind) and the expressions and all seemed very passive and stuff (not sure if the manga is like this too, but based on the pics you've shown in the past/recently it doesnt seem that way)

The manga is very shounen action. THe anime is very drama. I think i prefer animu if it was done abit better. The whole "lol no guns" and "lol car chase" was really strange to me.
