The Summer of "Anu": In a summer once every five years, demons in the mysterious Tower of Druaga lose their powers due to the magic spell cast by a god named "Anu". King Gilgamesh, ruler of the kingdom Uruk, uses the appearance of demons as an excuse to invade the tower and find out the construct's secrets. As 80 years passed, the Uruk army managed to fight back the demons and built a fortress city and safe haven on the very first floor of Druaga - Metz Kier. Thus begins the story of a warrior named Gil who, finding companions along the way, embarks on a quest for the fabled Blue Crystal Rod, a powerful artifact rumored to be in the highest floor of Druaga. However, other competitors, including the kingdom of Uruk itself, want the treasure, all for their own reasons.

I think the broom was a good weapon for a beginner. +5 Dexterity maybe.

guardian are low on INT i guess... and i lolled at the shield, isnt guadian suppose to use some heavy duty shield big enought to cover his whole body like the 1st episode? i guess it's the rpg element, that you have to start with noob equipment then stronger equip only available in shop later as you advance in the game]story..

well the 1st episode was just his dream, so its not actually the theme of the series, i was like WTF too when i watched it, but i endured it thru the ending and finally catch the serious part. WAHAHA.
Coopa is moe. And I just realised how strong she was too. She carries all those rods and cooking utensils and can carry Melt as if he weighted nothing.
I didn't get the Spear of Enki bit though....why did Arga steal it? Did it hold any significant power or he just needed a spear?
did the main character get used to the huge sword's weight or he was just unprepared when the spell wore off in episode 5? he seems to wield it easily in episode 6.
kayaa/kaaya/kaya (not sure about the spelling lolz) is not what she seems to be.
i wonder what the curse on the king was? immortality?

no. Jil != King gilgamesh. Gil aka Gilgamesh was teh main characther in the original game, and the girl he went to save in the original tower, was Ki, the ancestor of Kaaya. He was alone in the original game and thus nothing to do with the current Jil

Gilgamesh in the game is the legendary Sumerian king, and was well known already before he went to the tower. Thus his childhood is well documented. Sorry but the game developers has all base covered when they released teh Druaga information book

I kinda like this anime cause of the scenery. A lot of different places, like a real rpg eg a mountainous area in #6 (eh?)
The original game had no premise or story. It was only later retconned to have some semblance of plot. Besides the game developers had no say in the direction of the anime.
Gilgamesh is Babylonian in the games, unlike the true Sumerian legend. In episode 3 there was a flashback of King Gilgamesh during his younger days and he looks like the current Jil.
Druaga is Gil/Gilgamesh's father, which episode 1 made a parody of.
Which is the true description of Kaaya real identity?.. 1). the descendant of the damsel in distress that Gilgamesh saved.. 2). The damsel in distress that Gilgamesh saved..

1 - She was never a damsell in distress, she was a sorceress with the task of taking back the blue rod, but failed and was trapped. 2 - Kaaya was not the same person, as she doesn't know how the tower works
is crunchyroll is trying to screw ppl that view the episode at youtube? last week they add a freaking huge banner on the top of the video. and for this week, they only put first 5mins of the episode. If you want to watch the full epi, you need to go to crunchyroll's website.
man the ending suck.... they builded up so much mysteries from the very beginning and answered none of it in the end.... it's like the whole season 1 is a teaser of what the MAIN story is about...
I was actually enthralled like when I read those Harry Potter books (yes... i'm coming out of the closet), but at the final episode, I was sadly, deeply disappointed. I could not believe that it could end like this, and leave me waiting till next year for the next season. What the hell man..
But despite that, I would still most likely watch the next season.

Not in the dream lah. The backside story of ep1 told the story of wat happen in the real world, just after Jil was knocked unconscious. In this backside ep 1, there's a scene where Jil fall into the gorge, but still OK (even manage to knocked out a Kusarakk leader accidentally, when he fall on top of its head), and also about the heavy weight of the armor he wears (even Utu admit that it was heavy). Also, the backside ep1 told the a lil bit of what happen b4 Ahmey, Melt and Coopa join Kaaya. Go here :
