I just made a new account and wanted to verify it using RHB's CashConnect Debit card (Mastercard) but it ended up always giving me this error:



What could be the reasons for it to be denied? I have a decent sum of money in the account the card is linked to so I'm sure its not because of insufficient funds. Also, I have tried activating and logging into RHB Bank's internet banking to see if does anything but still no help there. I might have missed something along the way while registration or such so anyone who's experienced using RHB Debit card to please guide me here?

So far, I suspect it could be because I was a little confused when first registering the account. As I have a pure Chinese name (I'll use KENG AH BAH as an example here), I entered KENG as my first name and then AH BAH as my last name so that it will appear correctly (As KENG AH BAH) and thus match exactly the name I have registered with the bank. Is this acceptable or do I have to ditch this account (Which is still new and has no cash in it) and create a new one and correct the name instead? Considering that the paypal name and bank account name must match exactly... Also, does the age of the debit card matter? As I was only issued this card days ago.

If RHB Bank's debit card really cannot be used for verifying, I'm thinking of applying for alternative cards. I'm so far considering getting either a Tune money card or a PB Electron debit card. I know Tune money has a cheaper annual fee but the extra charges for other services might offset PB's Electron debit card's annual fee over time. If I were to use it only to verify the paypal account and withdraw money into the card with the occasional online shopping (Without paypal), which is better?

Anyone? Please?

Can RHB's CashConnect Debit card (Mastercard) be used for Paypal verfication? Because I keep getting denied for some reason. Definitely not insufficent fund as got more than enough money in account. Only thing I probably messed up was my name. Put my chinese surname in the 'First Name' field and the rest of my name in the 'Last Name' field. Does that affect it?
