Hi guys, I got the call from the HR dept for management trainee program interview. I asked her if there is any assessment? She said no (just verbal interview) and bring certified original copies of transcripts. I find it abit weird as for other banks such as RHB, CIMB and Maybank, a few stages assessment is required.

Btw, how do they know which dept to put u in depending on interview (where they gauge your interest?) or just put u into some dept desperate for ppl??

Anyone can clarify on this matter?

Thanks guys.

I don't know how they interview other candidate and maybe for me it's unexpected. when i enter the interview room, the questions is not like other interview. As for me there is no self introduction questions. straight away to the position that i want and the position that they would like to offer. It's a bit difficult for me who wasn't really know about banking industry. But i try my best.

By the way, the interviewer are good. very friendly and do explains everything back to me. the environment is good.

U're not from the banking and finance background? I feel more relieved when u told me they are friendly and environment is good. Dont' worry i think u have every chance of being offered employment. smile.gif

Actually I also dont have a clue what type of questions the interviewer will ask, but I'm qualified in commerce, so maybe pull some tricks out when I need it? I will update once I have completed my interview.

I think patience is the key here and pray! pray!

Guys I just came back from the MT interview. My interview lasted around 35 mins (timed it!) and the HR executives were cool and friendly people.

I applied for trainee credit analyst and my interviewer was so sweet to have agreed with me on many issues. We had a discussion about credit. I really hope that I made it through because they seem to be quite impressed.

Interview was about general questions initially, then moved into credit industry. She even gave me a scenario to work on! sweat.gif

But it was a good experience, regardless of the interview result, I think I had fun and experience. I will just pray for at least 2 weeks to get the offer.

Now I'm as nervous as you were. But, I'll continue to apply somewhere else just in case I'm not given an offer. So when do you think they'll feedback us on the results? biggrin.gif

Hi

So what position did they offer now? I tot MT itself is a position?

I have been schedule for interview next wed for MT.

Any guideline to provide? Usually what they ask?

Thx
*
Actually the MT program is a 1 year training program for fresh graduates that wish to embark into the banking industry. As for Public Bank, they will offer sales or non sales positions. Then once u've successfully completed the program, base on your performance, you will be promoted to full fledged officer. More info:

http://www.jobstreet.com.my/jobs/2012/4/p/...617740.htm?fr=J

As for the interview, you will be interviewed by HR executives asking general (education, background, etc) questions and some related to the banking industry. So just get an overview of the industry in M'sia before you attend the interview.

Good luck!!

Dont worry, I think when we apply for jobs, surely expect some unsuccessful applications. I'm sure your time will come!! smile.gif I know the feeling is hard to take, but we just have to take positives from it.

did u fill up any forms at the end of the interview ?
*
Unfortunately no! sad.gif I read many candidates filled up some blue form that almost guarantee employment? But I'm also aware that there were candidates that filled it up (in the end rejected) and those did not fill up any form (got offered).

Confusing? blink.gif

Don't be too worry, I read in a lot of posts and people tend to ask things like "what kind of questions will be asked" etc. Actually you just need to be yourself, able to tell them more about you (and relate to what you have written on your resume), and a little bit of the company background and the position you applied for. That's it!

If there is anything you need to improve, that will be the calmness, the ability to keep cool and not to get too nervous, then only you can make the interview process interesting, which will probably land you a job.
*
Well said. Calmness and able to exert maturity and interest in the interview also helps alot.

But sometimes it is normal that you feel nervous for the first few interview sessions, then I think experience will help you be more steady.

So r u working now Gadget Empire?

I have accepted IBM and will start my work life soon.

Weird though... I have never felt nervous during interview (even for my first interview when I was in the UK), I think that's why I got the job when competing with 30 other candidates including the local British students. Why I say that's the reason? Coz Im not particularly good, Im jsut an average person with average result.

Anyway, good luck to all of you who applied to Public Bank, some of you may have heard of Jean De Witt from Public Bank. She is a nice person btw  thumbup.gif
*
Good prospects in IBM? brows.gif I have a friend just joined IBM as junior accounting analyst.

Thanks bro, hopefully all of us get a favourable reply from PB.
