Ive got an interview this week. It's for Management Trainee.
Which department do you think I should say I want to work in during the interview? Will they even ask? I got experience in a Risk Modelling department (internship,) and Actuarial Science degree.
I'm considering Risk (Credit/Market), Teeasury and Internal Audit. Definitely not interested in sales. Feedback on these from those in PBB is much appreciated.
Also should I be worried that I sent application today at 2am, got interview email at 10am and my interview is this Wednesday morning?

QUOTE(adamhzm90 @ Dec 5 2016, 04:19 PM) meaning they're desperately recruiting lah..just go and they will ask which department you're interested in. Just say what you mentioned here and you're not interested in sales Yeah it's my worry. Either they're desperately looking for people overall (bad), or desperately looking for people in my area of interest (which may be good). Anyway if someone in PBB can talk about Internal Audit, Group Risk and Treasury, will be good. In terms of future prospects (within and outside PBB), stress levels etc. Funny thing is, I applied for the Talent Max program but I got a reply about Management Trainee.

Ok I just did the interview. Went well. I told them I want an operational or analytical role, in the Risk, treasury or Internal audit department. I answered their questions fluently and honestly.
But the problem is my interview was short compared to others. So it's maybe a bad sign and they just "layan" me but have no available positions in those three departments.

Yeah I'm just curious actually, what's the logic for PBB to keep the salary at RM2800 for the past 10 years for their MTs? At the very least, have it increase with inflation, should now be RM3200.
Regardless, if I get the department I request for, I would probably seriously consider the offer. I don't mind getting a lower starting pay if the medium to long term prospects are better.
Speaking of which, it's RM2800 for the entirety of the first year? Once you're done the one year MT, what's the pay increment like?
When I asked the interviewer the other day, she said a PBB MT has the actual rank of a Senior Executive...and yeah with that in mind RM2800 is pathetic.

PBB MT definitely offers non sales and non credit related positions. But it’s incredibly limited. Like 5% at most. I won’t say it’s difficult to get this, it’s just limited and opened based on the departments requirements.

Need to clarify that Public Bank MT is NOT prestigious! In Public Bank, a "MT" is a Executive position (i.e. Entry Level). Next rank is Senior Executive. So Management Trainee in PBB is the same as any executive entry-level position in other banks. UOB Malaysia also call their entry level staff as "Management Trainee Officer".

QUOTE(devilblood123 @ Aug 24 2018, 11:50 PM) Hi, what would be the attractive staff benefits? Housing loan. I believe it maxes out at 1.5% or 2% for loan amt > RM500k. This is FREAKING AMAZING! Of course you need to be in a position to use it. Best if you're around 28yrs old, and look to buy a RM650k property. Can save ~RM800-RM1000 per month (if not more) with this benefit!

QUOTE(lolabunny123 @ Aug 26 2018, 02:31 PM) Not sure about this. All I know is that after the first year the increment is RM150 but I think it’s quite normal lah. I heard from seniors that for back-end staffs the increment is usually lower compared to staffs that actively do sales. Are you sure it's only RM150 increment after one year? Sounded lows man!! QUOTE(lolabunny123 @ Aug 27 2018, 12:45 AM) Yup very sure. I remember asking this question to one of the HR executive at ITTC during the talentmax program. After your first year is confirm RM150 increment. Subsequent years later the increment depends on your appraisal. Besides that, I’ve spoken to one of the relief officer who just passed his one year trainee period on February 2018. He also told me that his salary got revised from 2.8 to 2.95k. Are you a PBB employee? Of course not PBB employee otherwise why I need to ask you this question? lol But I wish I were...so many good things I heard.

Just curious guys, when does Public Bank group give out the annual performance bonus? I know the "contractual" two months bonus is given in December of every year, but what about the performance bonus? Similarly, when is the annual increment given out? TQ!
