QUOTE(icypetals @ Apr 2 2008, 01:08 PM) beethoven sonata #14? never heard of it before? it is hard or somethn? i learning more on chopin etudes, there are easier i think, unlikes beethovens. XD http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=O6txOvK-mAksonata makes me crazy!!! XD Even though you see it is easy to play but memorizing them is hard. Thus, the first movement is all about slowness and softness. That is the difficult expression to play. Well, I do not focus on easier music. It is all about going for the next level. QUOTE(hanhanhan @ Apr 2 2008, 03:13 PM) i dont know.. nobody 'special' to play it to. =( You used music in the wrong way. piano is like sex. if you play it for someone else, its making love. if you play it for yourself, its masturbating. |

QUOTE(raining again @ Apr 4 2008, 12:04 PM) hey , nice threat here ! so, i just bought a yamaha psr e403 keyboard about 2 weeks ago. actually i bought it was for self learning -piano. i don't really wana use others fuction yet cus i'm more in piano first. is there any piano songs to play for , i mean easy ones ? btw , so far i've understand most of the chords and could play many songs with chords in the sheet. what you guys think i should learn now ? notes i think is abit hard but i can translate from guitar notes that i've learn from what i;ve learn from guitar lessons. thanx in advance Broken chords. I recommend Fur Elise by Beethoven, I know it is a classical music but it does sounds good and it is famous. Time to get your hands to move on the melody part (your right hand playing).QUOTE(hanhanhan @ Apr 4 2008, 07:19 PM) ![]() |

QUOTE(icypetals @ Apr 8 2008, 04:29 PM) i use final fantasy score to sight read, so when reach the part with alot of triplet i just cincai play and that was the end of it XD LOLOLOLOLOL Think again, you should play music correctly. No rush. Music is music. Please take music seriously and you will get it. To Zanarkand is a free expressive piece not "cincai", take it seriously please. You will not want to see your favourite pianist to play it "cincai" for you, so you have to play it seriously.LOL, wat exam u taking? diploma or bachalor of music=.=" usually exams this gives us songs that doesnt sound that great! why couldnt they give us fantasie impromptu to play as exam piece It is just a diploma ATCL, nothing special. I want to tell you. After you have ended graded exams, you will have to study music history, conducting, directing, composing and a lot more. Till then, you will think that no one in this world is better than Beethoven, Mozart and those. QUOTE(hanhanhan @ Apr 8 2008, 07:14 PM) ATCL diploma's exam piece is fantaisie impromptu la. haha Fantaisie Impromptu, it appear once in an exam hall.anyways.. last year i practised that piece like hell and nailed it. but because i ONLY PRACTISED THAT ONE SONG for a month or so, my right-left hand coordination got screwed up. and after that i can never play scales the same way again. my right hand is always faster than my left. I have been practicing and study that piece behind the history for a year. If I am your teacher, I will force you to learn again. Always make your left and right hand do different notes, that is the basic. I feel so bad for you that you cannot play scales like never before, that is not possible. Do it again. QUOTE(onelove89 @ Apr 8 2008, 07:39 PM) sonata no.14 3rd movement, I wanna die playing tat song =.= fingers all stiff le. To be exact. It is Piano Sonata #14, 3rd movement opus. 27 no. 2.fantasie impromptu i can play, but messy, xD super super messy, =) my left hand basically wont hit all the notes, cos my right hand is going too fast? Are you sure your fingers are stiff or you do not want to put in effort on it? No, because you cannot control your left hand while you are busy with your right hand. Go "unlock" it. QUOTE(icypetals @ Apr 8 2008, 07:47 PM) hey guys, wats the diffrence with abrsm and lcm? What is the difference between SMK Damansara and SMK Kuala Lumpur? (for an example).i have been taking lcm all my life and nv taken abrsm except abrsm for violin. Anyway, whats the difrence with lcm and abrsm? my friends say abrsm is better, but my teacher doesnt agree. he say as long u score distinction in either lcm grd 8 or abrsm grd 8 is the same? anybody care to elaborate Think again. I do not care, any exam hall will do. Everyone has their own opinion. I always request for exam syllabus before confirm going into the exam. |

Beethoven's love letter and so on.Added on April 8, 2008, 11:54 pm QUOTE(little ice @ Apr 8 2008, 11:13 PM) everyone has their own preference of playing music, i guess? when i'm in a mood, i play serious, when i'm not, i cincai play. But I could not really accept those who play music "cincai" all the time. Understand what I mean?...i actually wished to see my favourite pianist play something cincai, gotta be fun! QUOTE(little ice @ Apr 14 2008, 10:55 PM) my teacher is charging RM120 per hour (yes! per hour/per lesson), as a normal fees for a master degree graduates. he teach privately though, and he IS really a good teacher. Okay, that is a lot but I am also getting around that much in two days. After all, I still say no. I have my target. It is not about money or easy living.go get yours. Conclusions:
1. You know that everything in this country is expensive. Not just education. 2. Never think of getting diploma, degree or whatever. Just as long as you can play music nicely. |

QUOTE(little ice @ Apr 14 2008, 11:27 PM) i disagree with this. studying in college or uni will have more inputs than average music students. it's not the cert one going to aim, it's the environment. Good comment. I am saying that because..I think you know. Basically a lot of people thinks that getting a diploma will get a good future or something. Thus, I saw a lot of graduated diplomas are still playing badly, I do not want to expose their college name here.how often you got to perform in front of everybody AND watching your fellow classmates perform so you can learn from each other? how about learning chamber music, orchestra, deep study of theory, extensive ear training, history, choir? yes, you can learn it by yourself, but you won't get as much inputs (and as fast) as learning alone than studying in group. certs and qualifications are definitely not wasting money if you consider the above statement. it IS yougster today who want to target the cert cause they can earn more money, thus making the cert looks ugly nowadays. For the bolded sentences on your quote, I can tell you it is about 90% of the people I have met in my life. |
