QUOTE(eddychstu @ Apr 3 2008, 10:50 AM) hi dazzle, what's is the site you purchase your lens from? coz i'm looking for the 10-22 with intl warranty too. My friend buy for me in HongKong and send by fedEx.thanks! No website 1 lol. Cannot help. Added on April 3, 2008, 9:09 pm QUOTE(empire23 @ Apr 3 2008, 11:26 AM) I hereby report that the 50mm 1.2L has Godlike sharpness when stepped down to 2.0 or 2.8, but bokeh and detail on the Zeiss are more pleasing. u rite 50mm 1.2L is insane lens.Aussies wanna charge me 250 AUD to calibrate my EOS5D and 300 to totally allign the AF of my 70-200 2.8L IS, i regret not buying grey set, atleast grey set with International warranty can generally repair under warranty here, stupid Malaysian warranty can't be used. Also i wish to warp factor f*** Canon's QC, which is in my view, pure shiate. How the hell can a 4 month old body with a 6 month old lense and a 1 week old lense, all being L grade have focus issues?! And the stupid focusing screen distance isn't even set correctly from the Pentaprism. Dun forget the most insane lens 85mm f/1.2L USM. This lens is most wanted by more of us. hehe Brother dun scold stupid Malaysian, be cool. Pls read behind of the warranty card. before u purchase lah. Malaysia dunnot sell international warranty lah. Singapore also. I'm phone up canon Malaysia this after once my lens arrived, they say international warranty is accepted. So next time spend less to buy international warranty Canon item. Where u by the 5D ??? I aim is EOS 1D Mark III. I wish to get end of this year. This time i need to increase the warranty from 1 year to 3 years from Canon Malaysia. Secure abit. Haih, if i didn't have so many L-classes i would have jumped ship to 35mm film Cosina or rangefinders like the Ikon and the Leicas. No doubt digital is easier, but with the QC Canon is putting in these days and the shitty tolerances in manufacturing, i doubt any of it's advantages will save it now. Nearly all of my shots are done MF now due to the crappy AF. Although my dislike for Canon is growing, i would still consider the buggy EOS 1Ds Mark III provided i can get a job here, due simply to it's AF adjusting ability, build tolerance and tone highlight. But that's still about 24 effin K. Although if i work at the local Subway or Noodlebox for the next 7 months i probably could afford it even with my student hours. Not error is effort to happen but somehow..................it happen. Are u still a student? |

The 5D was sell sponsored off profits from various investments, writing and electronics jobs, which makes it even more disappointing since it took be a good 5 months to get that cash. But really lah, the 5D's AF problems are really vexing, especially for a camera of this price. |

QUOTE(dazzle @ Apr 4 2008, 10:56 PM) different between L series and normally lens. Ya lor, the 55-250 IS is very good value for money but oni can use on static subjects so the IS is good for that. For moving subjects, we can just forget about it. The 70-200 focussing is like Superman. No doubt u can get a good short. 55-250IS is not for wildlife and sport lens. This is slow. |

How disappointed on the noise control?Nikon better than canon, Which level of Camera. 350D,400D,450D,40D,5D,1D,1Ds. Brother D300 is using CMOS sensor, their noise control is about the same lah. How come u say Nikon better that Canon? If u taken D300 to compare with 40D and below. Sure D300 is winner. 40D is not far behind. If u compare with 1D & 1Ds, D3 is far away from 1Ds. |

QUOTE(myjunk @ Apr 5 2008, 04:15 AM) what's the diff betwwen the 1.4x and the 2x extender ah? IIRC they extend both the minimum and maximum focal lenghts by their respective magnification factors. How come same price one? http://www.directphoto.com.my/webshaper/st...t.asp?catID=199 They do have limitations and generally use the same amount of glass (look up Telephotogroup : Glass amount is the same, only total length is higher) and that's why i believe they're the same price, the 1.4x only imparts 1 stop worth Aperture penalty and the 2.0 imparts 2 stops of aperture penalty. Also makes shots a little fuzzier and less sharp, and if your viewfinder is dark or if you're using an MF focusing screen, expect it to be downright unusable. It also degrades AF performance and makes it hunt more. I use the 2x for Nature shots. If you plan on doing low light, ultra bokeh, fast action shooting, get a new lense lah. But this is great for accessing nature especially if you're equipped with the 70-200 2.8 Anyways here's a shot showing the weakness of the tele extender » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by empire23: Apr 5 2008, 07:03 AM |

Maaaaaaaaaaaaan that duck shot made me go "What the DUCK!". It's really nice dude. U missed out 1 point about the 1.4x n 2x. The reason I want the 1.4x is coz my lens is f4. To keep autofocus we need to keep at or below f5.6 unless we have the EOS1D series. If I buy the 2x I will not have autofocus n that will be a total beach. I will be getting 450mm with 1.4x on my 1.6 crop EOS 40D. Muahahaha. This post has been edited by ianho: Apr 5 2008, 07:58 AM |

I understand the difference between 2x and 1.4x more or less, but the question was how come both same pricing.
I would have thought that the 2x would be more expensive. BTW,. how come 2x autofocus would not work ah? and why must aperture be <5.6 for it to work? |
