Very persona; haha..Anyway, I will never goto any dim sum during weekdays..I had tried 2 famous dimsum during weekend i.e Clan in Sri Petaling & also Hong Kee in Puchong..Total disaster man!! They only steam from the raw dishes. & as u said when reached u like watery & few 1/2 cooked & not fresh..suspected left frozen for days since begining of the week!

Yeah I dun like their Chow lobak kou too..CCF although as u said long type & not cut..but for me OK-lah..Wayan CCF still better but their having bigger fresh praw,, probably due top weekend & during weekend more choices... smile.gif

Yeah, it's kinda persona, IMO, I would still visit Yuen Garden, I have had tried YG dimsum during weekday evening, not that bad compared to Jin Xian, of course, my personal view.

Overall, I still like Wa Yan dim sum as their prawn is extremely fresh, tender ! Think not so many ppl know Wa Yan as not many customers yet still.

Wa Yan punya prawn is small in comparision with Hong Kee, Axian, Yuen Garden.

Taste wise also less savoury than the others. I am a steamed variety eater, so I focus on the steam items. for me wa yan just dont make the cut.

oh, and they claim to be best dimsum in town, lol. best sense of humour i agree la.

Different people have different taste, it's a very personal thing.

'Best dimsum in town' is no doubt their slogan thingy, it's just marketing, it might be the best dimsum in town for some people.

To Mr. Vey99, they might not be the best dimsum but I do hope that they are not the worst dimsum. =)

Just my 2 cents, hope that no one feels offended. =)

I concur with Eater's review on Wa Yan. Since it opened, I seldom go to Yan Yan anymore, it's nearer to get a good dim sum. Of course this is just my opinion.

Aiyah..Dim Sum all very personal wan lah...Diff outlets having their specialities..For eg Yan-yan, Their stim-stim type not as good but my fav there are their Char Siew Bao & Chow Lobak kou...That's the best in Yan-yan..Wayan also has its specialities...such as their CCF, & lau sar pau & few more thingies but there are few others so-so items at Wayan too.

So do Yuen Garden, Taiji, Hong Kee & etc...each hv their own specilities..so it's best to try all...haha.....But honestly I feel Puchong Dim Sum outlets really out of control liao..TOOOO MANY....Last count ....Let me list down..From kinrara to Puteri:

1) Janbo (Kinrara)
2) Yuen Garden
3) Jin Xuan (New Kam Hin)
4) Puchong 1 cafe Ming Steamboat & dim sum
5) I Love U Shabu-shabu dim sum (Not sure whether really dim sum??)
6) Nini (Puchong Jaya..The only surviving small dim sum in Puchong Jaya - Older than Yuen Garden!!)
7) Wayan
8) Hong Kee
9) Axian
10) Jui Moon Heen
11) Taiji Eateries
12) Foo Hing
13) Hong Kong Chef
14) Wei Littel Kitchen (Related to Yan2 ??)
15) Imperial Palace Tai thong
16) Dragon Dynasty (IOI Mall)

Walao eh...16 liao!!

i also thinks Yan Yan is good, YG is also good, Wayan is also good good..

This is 3 dimsum i like to eating in KL/Puchong.

this 3 prawn is ok n reasonable size n freshness..

I only know Axian prawn last time start opening is bigger than now...i also see Axian dim sum all cut cost liao...those who eated when they first open maybe realise it. i always hated this type of businessman doh.gif

Added on February 8, 2010, 10:23 amAtlast, tried liao during weekend. As you said not bad at all but Axian pricing..Avg RM4.50/dim sum except you choose lohg mai kai (RM3.50 or char siew bao (RM1.40 each)....Tottl bill comes to RM32 for 7 items + tea...Still abit cheaper than Jin Xuan & probably Axian too. If Yan-yan only ~ RM22 for 7 items.

so i had most of the prawn item, is nice. the prawn are very fresh and big piece also.

today is rare occasion less ppl so the service and food both are at the level it should be.
