If that damage really cost him time, it would have being changed.

yes you save a few seconds for not changing, but losing how much time on laps?

the incident took place on the very 1st lap and it was not changed, show us that the damage wasn't giving any significant influence to the performance thus stop saying that's why he is behind Ham. Ham was faster and that was the fact, no matter how much u hate Hamilton or McLaren.

Sometimes i feel this thead should hv being named to Ferrari thread instead, oh no, should be anti McLaren. wink.gif
*
Don't said like that la, they just a supporter of Ferrari. If u saying this without detail analysis, that same to you we look at that you are anti Ferrari.
I think the main problem is not on the Kimi Wing, it could be there tyre choice.
Yes, agreed Ham always one of the fast guy on the field. But If u said Ham is faster on this race, how come Massa win? How come he not on Pole with the lighter car among the top (if not mistake, 3 or 4 lap lesser fuel, that a lot in F1)?
For me, look at the whole race, Ham on 3 stop and sure car is much lighter and he not need to worry on the tyre. Plus Both of this team is totally in different type choice. So, can’t really compare them in term of faster driver or car.
Also, Massa also admin that they may have make a wrong choice of tyre, if not mistake, he said in conference that after last pit he used the harder tyre with better grip.

I don't think Bridgestone is helping Ferrari:
"Nobody else has had a repetition of any of those problems this year, with the exception of Lewis," a spokeswoman for F1's official tyre supplier told Reuters.

Don't think Bridgestone will spend money to make a special tyre just for Ham, then sure all others Driver anti Ham.
If you are the follower of Shumi & Mika, Senna times... they will always said they have to push at the same time they need to take care of there tyre to the finish the race.

As, Ham know how to push but don't know how to take care of there tyre. this is not 100m racing.. driver much have skill to take care of long run racing.

Not anti on anyone, Just my opinion! tongue.gif

Yes they are. Remember that Ferrari had a long relationship with bridgestone since they switched from Goodyears many moons ago. Its a known fact that Bridgestone has dedicated staff working with Ferrari.
*
Yes, u right on the long relationship. But I guess bridgestone, FIA and others team would have agreement and "monitor" what bridgestone do. Remember also, all others team also "Anti Ferrari", unless all others now site Ferrai , anti Mclaren ! laugh.gif

I guess we also have to get used to it if this happen:

If bridgestone make a special tyre just to suite Ham driving style...
Result: very good, bridgestone do the right thing for safety! thumbup.gif

If bridgestone make a special tyre just to suite Kimi driving style...
Result: bridgestone are helping Ferrai, not fair, special relationship, cheating, etc... rclxm9.gif

Ok, get ur point. But for this case, it only happen on Ham, also Mclaren wanted to run the hard tyre in the race. I guees tyre choise mainly not base on Bridgestone, cause this come from the pratices performance on Friday & Sat. I guess each team have dozen of class A engineer to analize the data.. it also didn't make sense just simply listen to what Bridgestone said.
So, no tyre choise, only can play on strategies. So, for safety, 3 stop. But if Bridgestone advice them just go ahead on on 2 stop. If the tyre failer again, same blame to Bridgestone...

I'm not sure how true is this.... but if dedicated Bridgestone staff give Ferrai special "Help"... I guess... this news not in this forum, but in the news headline

It does make sense to listen to Bridgestone because - they manufacture the tires.

Remember the 2005 US GP when Michelin advised the teams using their tyres not to race because of safety concern?
Please just dont rely on this forum alone, there's other good online sites about F1.
U miss out my point, I agreed that they will listen to Bridgestone, but not blind listen to them.
Beucase a big team like that before make decision must have few dozen of "SUPER" engineer analize there data and confirm what they said can be taken and prove what they said is possible to happen. End of the day I believe Bridgestone already mention they are just an "Adviser", if Mclaren just take advice like that without all those concern and analist. I guess all of us can be a Mclaren Team Boss. Easy anything don't know just take advice from others, if wrong just blame them. rclxms.gif
What I want to said is, the decision is on Mclaren, if they can't make an good decision base on all site (Team itself & Bridgestone) of advice & data. The decision maker have to be blame not the advicer. This is call "Responsibilities of a decision maker".

Yes, sure we all remember 2005 US GP, but also u have to remember why they take that advice beucase of the prove of few crash before the race and the Team itself have the data to show the tyre is dangerous to used. This case is so serious, do u think FIA that stupid take the decision by just listen to Michelin without strong prove?

Of cause I know all this site. I used to have dozen of member of them when Shumi era. After Shumi retired, not much interesting news to followed. blush.gif
what i mean is, If Bridgestone prove to be an bad guy, we should able to find some "Official News" headlines about that. I just can't find one.

I think enough for the "Tyre War" here, please don't take it personal, just an opinion biggrin.gif

No matter who we support, all of us here will support the same thing, "Formula One" rclxms.gif

Tires play the roles, harder tires (for Istanbul GP) only reach working temperature after 3 laps, from CCTV5 commentators. So that might be the reason why Hamilton can't get pole.
If Hamilton can pass Massa before 1st pit stop, then Mclaren will win the race.
BTW, anti Raikkonen now begin... laugh.gif
Hehee I'not agree this.. his car is much lesser fuel, how u explain compare to Hekki? there are in the same tyre but Hami is much lighter then Hekki.
Also, if they know soft tyre is can run faster why they use harder tyre for qualifiying?
I think if hami pass massa 1st pit stop, it still 50/50 he will win. cause he can't pass maasa mean he still have not enough pace b4 first pit stop and you see the faster lap time is from Ferrari, mean if that case happen I believe Massa will play haeder to the race.

No, No, No, I'm not anti-Hamiton, I'm anti Coulthard! rclxm9.gif hahahaa...

LOL, you really think that the team boss knows everything? if like that he can save millions of dollars paying race engineers, technician  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
Sorry, I think u still miss out my point..
biggrin.gif Of cause team boss don't know everything but they must know how to manage and make an good decision base on the information. Then why the company pay the team boss may be like 10 times or more of the race engineers salary? Why not just kick the team boss away use the money get another 10 or more engineers?
Example, Do you think Dato' Tony Fernandes (Airasia CEO) know how to drive/fly Airbus 320 or Boeing 737?

QUOTE(evoHahn @ May 13 2008, 11:28 AM)
The FIA wanted the michelin teams to race that day. Thats why the Michelin runners after they have done their formation lap, they drove straight to the pits.
I did not said that Bridgestone is a bad guy, but i said its a known fact that Bridgestone has a dedicated team assigned to Ferrari - and thats why i pointed out that you should read more than just exclusively reading websites.
ok, my mistake, no FIA, then how about "All using michelin F1 team boss"? They are accepted and agree the adviced.
I did read more, but I only pointed out those "Official publish". There will millions of forum and un-official news taking different thing and those thing is no fact. unless there is a prove.
Like I can just said "Mcleren fast because they still copy Ferrari technology" but no prove. If u are an Ferrari supporter, will u bring my statement to share with everyone?

Yes, I agree there is an dedicated team assigned to Ferrari, but is it all the team is same also have an dedicated team from Bridgestone?
If you said Bridgestone not the bad guy, that mean they not giving Ferrari any extra advantages then others team. then what the problem? Please I'm taking recent racing not Michelin era.
I just don't undestand why if there is a "Bridgestone has dedicated team assigned ONLY to Ferrari" that paying an "un-fair game" then why I can't find any news of complain it.
As u know there are many sensitiive Anti-Ferrari team out there. If u can put a link here show me any official new on that? I whould be Happy to know more. drool.gif

Please don't bring up those old times news (Michelin era), of cause those time Ferrari is the only Top 3 team with Bridgestone, that why they help them a lot. Same to Michelin will help more on like Mcleren team then those on last few places.

I'm not stand on Ferrari point of view, I just want to know more on F1... biggrin.gif

And with Lewis we had a bit of a structural concern on the tyres which we discovered in practice and we discussed it with Bridgestone and took a decision on safety to run three stops.
There was some internal delamination which Bridgestone were very good at picking up. We didn’t want to have any tyre failure. It was possibly okay to run two stops, but it was a bit more severe on Lewis’ and we put drivers’ safety first. Ron Dennis.
Mclaren itself find the problem first, Bridgestone give advice, Ron Dennis is the one making decision. Not Bridgestone force Lewis to do 3 stop.

May be Mclaren should invesitigate there car as well.

OK, I have bad spelling & grammar. cry.gif That true. I still try to improve. Lucky not need to take English exam to join this Forum. tongue.gif hehehe.. Please don't take it too personal la.
But I just try to explain simple basic logic/concept being a Team Boss not nessary to know all what engineer know.
OK, my bad english again I guess.. I not accusing u on 2005 US GP, that one is bring up by u. All the while I'm talking Bridgestone advantage over Ferrari.

You agree with me and then disagree?  First of all you must understand the word dedicated. I like to scan the article in the F1 Mag on this, built it will spoil the mag.
Yes, I understand the word dedicated, ok, English Guru. Can I ask if there is a Bridgestone people A work with Ferrari and another Bridgestone people B (not same as previous people) work with Mclaren. Can I use the word "Bridgestone has a dedicated people A assigned to Ferrari " and "Bridgestone has a dedicated people B assigned to Mclaren"? I only mean that, dedicated different people/group to different team. So, it still fair to others team.
haha.. sorry tongue.gif become english class here...

QUOTE(evoHahn @ May 13 2008, 02:39 PM)

ORLY? can you give me the link of "Official Publish" on this? i always thought that Michelin a French company is more interested in working together with Renault F1 team which is backed by French company.
I just give an example only, top team like Mclaren team compare to those on last few places. Ok, I should list all the Michelin team next time. rclxub.gif

That is ok, you judge poeple by logo/avatar.
Like the Red car doesn't mean cannot have topic against the team.

QUOTE(evoHahn @ May 13 2008, 02:39 PM)

Sorry, this is not "Official publish"
yes, it's not "Official publish", but is Official statement from Ron Dennis, that why I highlight that part.

Aiya, actually I just want discuess and want to know more about start from single F1 tyre supplier... why you/some people said Bridgestone are helping Ferrari only. As I know FIA has a set of rule to control Bridgestone & Team relationship. If Bridgestone & Ferrari cheated, Ferrari easilly kick out from the Championship.
That why i ask is there any official link for this claim.

OK, I saw some fire already. mad.gif I will stop this topic here. Please don't take it personal.
Cool down.. icon_idea.gif enjoy coming... Monaco GP rclxm9.gif Ferrari should use there new nose again.

Guess we just wait and see any news if Bridgestone really give extra advantages to Ferrari.

gee jejes ....wtf are you 2 talking about ? if a tyre fails OF COURSE BLAME THE TYRE MANUFACTURER, unless it is caused by debris or wheel failure. When tyre manufacturer gave an advice, OF COURSE it has to be seriously considered, coz THEY MAKE THE TYRES. simple as that. man this kind of common sense is so hard to understand ?
before 2007, most of the time bridgestone focus on ferrair, michelin have more teams to deal with. about the bridgestone-ferrari love relationship, well who knows they still continue it nowadays. but it's difficult to ignore that fact that it didnt
geeeeeee.. I guess bad English confuse u la, Of cause I know if tyre fails should BLAME TYRE MANUFACTURER. that apply to case like US GP very one got problem. In this case, no one have this problem, even Hekki (remember he actually on 2 stop (1 more stop because of type punctured on lap 1). So, is more to the way he drive. Some point look at this case is also tyre fails, is this common sense TYRE MANUFACTURER should spent money & times just to make the tyre to suite Lewis driving style? Guess what others driver will said. vmad.gif

Yes, is normal common sense people will think Bridgestone relationship continues because of their previous long term partner. Just no one can prove it. But what I think, they in the business world, they are on contract basis. If all together others team can give more business benefit then Ferrari, why they want to make 1 friend and make 9 enemies? Remember in the real business world, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda, BMW are covering large market. If they anti Bridgestone! guess there CEO will not that stupid. Don't tell me you think Bridgestone join F1 because they purely love F1. All about Business & $$$. Same thing here AMD have long term relationship, now they don't like it, just discontinue the contract. Done.

Ok, enough for the tyre war la. nod.gif We all have different opinion. thumbup.gif

tyre manufacturer not really aim to make the tyre more "reliable"...   they just have to make it reliable enough for part of the race... and Max the performance but within FIA rules...
the really reliable tyre can see 2 years back.. where tyre are not allow to change that time..  ..
yap.. Same with engine. No team will make a reliable engine last for 1 year race, since they allowed to change every 2 race.

yeah that statement is too much. But can't stop how people think. even Hami, Alonso also make mistake. I would said Alonso is the one make lot of stupid mistake (may be he is too agresive)
Guess Massa lost out mostly in it's strategy, fill up for 1 stop (heavy car) but end of the days still need to change tyre for 2nd stop.

Just looking at the incident, it’s just a normal race incident, it happen in many others race before. As long as the driver not done it on purpose.

Same thing, this incident so much of comment is because Force India & Kimi. It this happen between Toro Rosso or Honda or Toyota...etc..
