dud jes call celcom and they will tell u the info..
all u need to tell them wat is required by SwirlyMMS setting
then ure good rclxms.gif i think calling service center is FREE too?
Maxis is..owh by the way not to worry bout GPRS/EDGE not connected
when u try to send out MMS..just keep on sending until succesful..
your line is trying to get connected to GPRS/EDGE when u send/receive MMS
or ure not even on GPRS/EDGE so u need to get connected by calling service center
its an effort worth trying..go ahead.. thumbup.gif

Megatron, you did a good job in maintaining the thread in iPhone club v1 to v6......and i miss it already.

Since we are in a post election fever, i vote for "iphone club v7 and beyond....".

Any other member voting for this ?

Apple News |  Microsoft is Investigating the iPhone SDK

Microsoft is investigating the iPhone SDK to find out whether it has profit potential.

According to Fortune, for a little more than a week a team of Microsoft engineers has been examining the iPhone SDK to find worthwhile opportunities to sell iPhone software.

"It's really important for us to understand what we can bring to the iPhone," Tom Gibbons, corporate vice president of Microsoft's Specialized Devices and Applications Group, told Fortune on Monday. "To the extent that Mac Office customers have functionality that they need in that environment, we're actually in the process of trying to understand that now."

"We do have experience with that environment, and that gives us confidence to be able to do something," Gibbons said. "The key question is, what is the value that we need to bring? We're still getting comfortable with the SDK, right? It's just come out. So we had a guess as to what feasibility would be like, now we'll really get our head wrapped around that."

The iPhone 2.0 Firmware is due at the end of June thus developers have until that time to create new and exciting applications.

This is madness! I agree with a sub forum too! tongue.gif

I would also like to suggest to have different threads discussing different aspect of iPhone stuff. For example:
Cases, MMS/BT/EDGE settings, iPhone issues, apps, etc

Whether it's sub-forum or continuing with v6, I say Megatron should re-open the current v6 so as not to mess up AppleByte.

By closing v6, I think we are sort of blackmailing the mods and admins to create a sub-forum...

Already brought this up to Admin. I put it in as an iPhone/iPod sub forum.
Will let them decide so just hang in there.

You guys need to grow up a bit as well, ok?
It's all about sharing so no need to be elitist just because you think you're a Mac expert (or good at Googling).

You guys know what, I would suggest that the mods clean up Apple Byte sub-forum first. Newbies come in and post like there's no tomorrow. I know they want quick answers or attention but this is a forum, you have to be patient to get answers as not everyone here can entertain or answer your questions quick, or if you want quick answer just put some effort on Google. It's not like we're sitting here like helpdesk technician and wait for troubleshoots to come.

Added on March 26, 2008, 6:13 pmWhen it's cleaned, I hope they can open up iPhone & iPod touch sub-forum. icon_rolleyes.gif

I am moving this to Main Site/Forum Feedback and Helpdesk to get more attention from fellow Admins & Mods.

Meanwhile, please continue with the iPhone Club Version 6 while waiting for the admin's decision.

Has anyone actually care about listing out the reasons why a subforum is needed?

I'm sure there are reasons but that doesn't help if you do not list them out but instead shouted that you want a subforum only.

iPhone:

-All about the phone (pricelist, latest news, user list, or others)
-Guides for jailbreaking/unlocking/third party apps
iPod touch:

-All about the iPod (pricelist, latest news, user list, or others)
-All about jailbreaking/third party apps (guides, tutorials, Q&A)

Some forummers might wanna add their own stuff maybe, create a subforum may help as new forummers open threads and make it look messy.

If the supporting community is insufficient to make a sub-forum. I suggest at least a pinned thread should be created.

There is a need for the iPhone/iPod Touch subforum. The community get bigger day by day. By having a subforum, there is more control over the questions, discussion and also a lot easier to keep track of the issue.

An issue with current iPhone Club topic is, it get flooded with all kind of questions and discussions.

I vote YES for subforum. smile.gif

Well, since our community is not as big as Hackint0sh,so we cant have so much sub-forums under iPhone.
My suggest is have a iPhone/iPod Touch subforum with Pinned thread for JB/Unlocking/Third Party appz guide and question. Iphone Club will remain in as a general discussion and sharing news etc etc.

The admins need to consider the creation of a subforum and there are times people don't see things the same way, stating the reason helps them understand why it is required.

It might be useful to put everything together under one post and point people (not just the admins to it).

The poll result means something but not everything, support it with your reasons as well (like what other forummers have done) smile.gif

i think jb/activate/unlock can be pinned under 1 thread
then 3rd party app another, just like hackintosh
and another for general discussion

this way it'll be easier for everyone who wanted to know more info on particular issue instead having to read the whole 200++ pages looking for the information they wan(of coz they can use the search function, but i don't think many people do so). The prb with the current iphone club is there are many question that had been answered being ask again and again..and some just don't bother and create a new thread to ask..

Thanks for smartly rejecting the idea because you probably don't own an iPhone. It makes me feel that people that voted for "NO" are really selfish because they do not understand other's need.

When i suggested Geminist to look at the poll! I was referring to the amount of people that voted Yes.

With that amount of users voted yes, thats a reason.

I'm proposing a Second-Level Subforum to be placed within Apple Byte area!

We're all gathered in this great forum made for tech enthusiast and from my interpretation iPhone is the latest hype in town (pretty much for every other tech savy folks/apple fanboy). With the impressive growth rate of iPhone owners in Malaysia and with the forum made available in Lowyat, this will probably become the #1 local iPhone community, indirectly increasing the user count and on the other end, adding an a ready made area for any other existing users who may be here for some other interest at the moment.

iPhone Club thread is also an obvious proof for its demand. I would compiled you a list of users who have posted in iPhone Club thread if you wish so. I'm looking at least a couple of thousands of users participating there.

QUOTE
Slow & Safe business model:
Start a business according to the market flow, with high profit probability (Chinese)

Innovative business:
Start a business before someone else do so (pioneer/opportunist)

Creating a proper subforum area allow discussion to be made in well organized manner.
Preventing question from being repeated because users can't find what they were asking
- they were hundreds of pages away or probably in another iPhone Club thread)
- browsing through all the replies on each page to find out which user is replying to you.

Making it possible to have a suitable pinned topic within iPhone subforum for instance, Eg: Application review list, Accesories list, Jailbreaking method list, etc.. (Apple byte will be free of iPhone)

Benefit of an organized iPhone subforum subsequently bring the benefits the rest of the Apple Byte users.

In my opinion, making more subforums may divert the users but in some way it might group the users of the same interest (isn't this a tech enthusiast forum)!

If you do think that the reason that I've given above is invalid, would you then consider placing Apple's gadget in a sub, namely iPod Touch&iPhone.

Thank you.

Don't you want to find stuff/applications for your ipodtouch (almost similar function with iPhone) in proper order? Rather than browsing through 100s of pages and thousand of post to find out what are the users posting? smile.gif
