Has anyone actually care about listing out the reasons why a subforum is needed?

I'm sure there are reasons but that doesn't help if you do not list them out but instead shouted that you want a subforum only.

iPhone:

-All about the phone (pricelist, latest news, user list, or others)
-Guides for jailbreaking/unlocking/third party apps
iPod touch:

-All about the iPod (pricelist, latest news, user list, or others)
-All about jailbreaking/third party apps (guides, tutorials, Q&A)

Some forummers might wanna add their own stuff maybe, create a subforum may help as new forummers open threads and make it look messy.

If the supporting community is insufficient to make a sub-forum. I suggest at least a pinned thread should be created.

There is a need for the iPhone/iPod Touch subforum. The community get bigger day by day. By having a subforum, there is more control over the questions, discussion and also a lot easier to keep track of the issue.

An issue with current iPhone Club topic is, it get flooded with all kind of questions and discussions.

I vote YES for subforum. smile.gif

Well, since our community is not as big as Hackint0sh,so we cant have so much sub-forums under iPhone.
My suggest is have a iPhone/iPod Touch subforum with Pinned thread for JB/Unlocking/Third Party appz guide and question. Iphone Club will remain in as a general discussion and sharing news etc etc.

The admins need to consider the creation of a subforum and there are times people don't see things the same way, stating the reason helps them understand why it is required.

It might be useful to put everything together under one post and point people (not just the admins to it).

The poll result means something but not everything, support it with your reasons as well (like what other forummers have done) smile.gif

i think jb/activate/unlock can be pinned under 1 thread
then 3rd party app another, just like hackintosh
and another for general discussion

this way it'll be easier for everyone who wanted to know more info on particular issue instead having to read the whole 200++ pages looking for the information they wan(of coz they can use the search function, but i don't think many people do so). The prb with the current iphone club is there are many question that had been answered being ask again and again..and some just don't bother and create a new thread to ask..

Thanks for smartly rejecting the idea because you probably don't own an iPhone. It makes me feel that people that voted for "NO" are really selfish because they do not understand other's need.

When i suggested Geminist to look at the poll! I was referring to the amount of people that voted Yes.

With that amount of users voted yes, thats a reason.

I'm proposing a Second-Level Subforum to be placed within Apple Byte area!

We're all gathered in this great forum made for tech enthusiast and from my interpretation iPhone is the latest hype in town (pretty much for every other tech savy folks/apple fanboy). With the impressive growth rate of iPhone owners in Malaysia and with the forum made available in Lowyat, this will probably become the #1 local iPhone community, indirectly increasing the user count and on the other end, adding an a ready made area for any other existing users who may be here for some other interest at the moment.

iPhone Club thread is also an obvious proof for its demand. I would compiled you a list of users who have posted in iPhone Club thread if you wish so. I'm looking at least a couple of thousands of users participating there.

Creating a proper subforum area allow discussion to be made in well organized manner.
Preventing question from being repeated because users can't find what they were asking
- they were hundreds of pages away or probably in another iPhone Club thread)
- browsing through all the replies on each page to find out which user is replying to you.

Making it possible to have a suitable pinned topic within iPhone subforum for instance, Eg: Application review list, Accesories list, Jailbreaking method list, etc.. (Apple byte will be free of iPhone)

Benefit of an organized iPhone subforum subsequently bring the benefits the rest of the Apple Byte users.

In my opinion, making more subforums may divert the users but in some way it might group the users of the same interest (isn't this a tech enthusiast forum)!

If you do think that the reason that I've given above is invalid, would you then consider placing Apple's gadget in a sub, namely iPod Touch&iPhone.

Thank you.

Guys, we know your thirst for a sub-forum.

Allow the Admins & fellow Mods to have some time on the decision.

Meanwhile, just be patient. smile.gif
