What do you have in your portfolio?
Why do you want to clear out if the counter has good fundamental ground?

I am still looking at: drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif
MahSing - RM1.30 (someone will come ketuk my head again tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif . Sorry bro, looks like the news is not helping you either)
AmFirst - RM0.85 (This counter is not moving at all *slight movement don't count for me*)
IOICORP - RM6.30 (pana, cherroy, is it still sound to invest in IOICORP? CPO is dropping like bottomless-pit)
Not enough bullet for other counters like CARLSBERG, GUINESS, JTI, AXISREIT, etc. - mostly dividend counters.

I have a couple bad stocks too - due to 'news' that I followed blindly and burnt for a few thousand. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

Isn't it also good for you when you can average down on a good counter? Look at the bright side loh, it means the dividend yield went slightly higher. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Decided against queueing AmFirst @ RM0.80 and MahSing @ RM1.30 after seeing the red tide increasing. Hopefully my decision is right.

Try so hard to Q Amfirst at 0.80?  biggrin.gif

Amfirst is going to give around 3.6 cents for the semi-annual distriubtion in next month. Don't think people would dump it at 0.80. You need market crash to get it at that price. Oppss touch wood.  laugh.gif

Lol so many Q in the Carlsberg at 4.00. I also join it.  tongue.gif

Cherroy, thanks for the info. No wonder AmFirst is not moving at all. Sigh. Gotta Q higher at RM0.85 today.

Amfirst hasn't traded much recent few days back. The chance of getting some lower price probably at 0.85-0.86 region, if someone eager to sell, otherwise, no trade at all.

Also, Amfirst just acquire Summit USJ for its newer portfolio, so surely support at a bit mah.  laugh.gif
*
Ya, that is why I tempted to buy AmFirst. Since Summit USJ is going through some face-lift and reinventing itself, I can see that the rental will increase. After all the office block is quite heavily occupied.

I gave up trying IPO after awhile cos always ended up with my moolah stuck there for few weeks but getting nothing. sad.gif

Better buy from open market and spot those with better potential. After all not many recent-IPO counters are doing well in KLSE. Have to be careful when buying IPO - especially MESDAQ - cos they sometimes give a bright sunny picture when it is not.

Ewein was doing fine though.

Sorry that I can substantiate my claim as I once read some articles from KLSE website and TheEDGE showing the ROE/ROI of IPO counters. If we take only 2008, perhaps my claim is wrong as some of them (in fact most of them) might have been doing well.

I remember TheEDGE always (almost always la) publish a table comparing all IPOs of the year. So not many of them are doing great in 2007.

Well, I am writing this post without researching further on the 2008 IPOs. Please correct me if I am wrong. All this are simply from my limited RAM memory.

Oh, possibly if we always sell off the IPO on day-1, we might make some gains all the time. Normally it is slightly higher in the first few hours. Well, only if we do not let greed take over our brain and dump the share on day-1.

There are rulings restricting directors or investors from dumping the share within certain period. So they will suffer loss if IPO do not do well.

Guys,

Need some help here.

Apart from the brokerage website and KLSE, where else can I get share price update? It does not have to be realtime, it can be just a couple of seconds or 1 min late as long as better than the 15 minutes on KLSE website.

I hate how KLSE is trying to rip more moo-lah by doing away with the almost-realtime share price update on their website. Instead they want us to subscribe and pay more.

This is always how Malaysia company sucking more moo-lah away from consumers. Gosh!!!

Thanks for sharing the info.

This is what we had been worried about. The min commission offered (Rm12, or 8.88) lately is exploiting the loop hole of RM40 min that announced during last budget. Investment house surely complain to SC one. But I don't know the new itrade change is because of SC directive or not.

It (min commission) become a 'bait' to lure new investors to sign up with them.
*
What loophole is that? How can it be possible when the minimum is already RM40? Mind to share more information to please my curiousity?

Thank you.

I believe you  made some  profits so you sold off your shares. tongue.gif Well, that's good if that's the case.
After that you should not look back & regret because this will be endless & drain your energy . You should think of the next step & strategy. There will always be an opportunity. Being emotional does not change anything but you can view your previous sale as a lesson/guide for your next round. smile.gif

19 cents dividend... Woo hoo, share price running up today.
Dividends wise, this company dividend yield % more than Carlsberg but profitability and future wise not sure

found it - MSNIAGA, RM 1.68 currently.
*
Is that true? RM0.19 dividend for RM1.68 share price will give a yield of ~11%.

Wow! That is a nice dividend yield.

Mesiniaga should not go down so easily gua though the earning/profitability is not really encouraging.

Looks like Mesiniaga is not worth to invest. BTW, tech sector is never fancied by me - even Warren Buffet shy away from stock like Microsoft, Yahoo and not sure about Google. QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 15 2008, 04:15 PM)
Yup, if really want to buy energy stock, IPPs is more 'worth' provided the IPP contracts signed won't be reviewed.

As an IPP, what they have to concentrate on producing the max power to TNB and getting cash from TNB. That's why you see those IPPs are 'enjoying' steady profit throughout, without much worry. What they have to do is control their cost. In business world, it is very rare. You produce goods then don't need to worry to sell your goods, then how good the business it is.
*
Ya, buying IPP is better than TNB. TNB has too many unwanted baggage with them thanks to the lopsided PPA the previous administration 'made' them to sign.

YTLPWR is the favourite especially since Malakoff is no longer available. YTLPWR has been quite a good investment for me thus far smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 17 2008, 10:56 AM)
Regarding tech sector why Warren Buffett didn't interest at all has his reason which is very easy to understand.

Tech sector is fast evolving industry, today your company may do some newer technology (handphone, processor whatever tech gadget) or website that is the most popular now and earning big buck.
But with the fast moving tech sector, next year, there may be another rival with new tech and way to compete with you and overtake you. Classic example would be Yahoo, once is the hottest search engine in internet, just within short period of time, Google rise up and take over the leadership already. Same with Motorola, pioneer of HP, then overtake by Nokia easily.
So having those kind of company share won't guarantee in the next 3-5 years, the company will still shine again.

But having old tech stock is different story, just like having Coca-Cola. You know in the next 3-5 years, people still drink coke, right? But with tech, you don't know the next 5 years, what search engine is more popular or what handphone type is people chasing for etc.

Which means as long as old tech company stays efficient way of doing their business, then future profit is somehow is on safe side, unlike tech sector, future is up to anyone guess.
*
Thanks for the elaborated comment and refreshing me on it as I read about his story sometimes back. Still trying to pick up some pointers from his ways, actions, decisions but always tempted to get into tech stock as when they move they tends to move fast and high. The problem is spotting when to throw. sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Thinking of getting more, but rise up afterwards. Next month should able to get at least 3.6 cents for the semi-annual distirubtion.
