QUOTE(nubnub75 @ Mar 25 2008, 12:37 AM) Help! I only have the DS......but so far my opinion is this:I wanna buy a handheld game console, but i don't know which to choose! So help me guys... if u have BOTH the PSP lite n the DS.... tell me ur verdict!!! U want unique gameplay, lots (and i mean LOTS) of games, go for NDS. (Cheaper too U want sexy n sleek media player, high quality graphics, some nice games, go for PSP. Personally, if i got more money, i'll go for PSP. (plus have FFVII Crisis Core....thats a plus Of course if you're rich, get both la just my 2 cents. |

i also have both. Choosing which handheld really depends on what types of games u enjoy playing. Because NDS games are more simple and uses the touch screen. SO more unique games.
The PSP games are very similar to PS2 types of games. So PSP will have FF7, Metal gear, winning Eleven, Burnout etc. PSP graphics is much better then NDS. PSP can play MP3, Video, wifi, etc. So both are great handhelds...it only depends on what games u like. |

PSP , because DS games mostly are low production games , akin to flash games . The only worth mentioning is castlevania and EBA . Seriously , even in Castlevania , some of the sprites like lousy .gif files .
Mind you I owned DS before , and yet to play a PSP . |

I have both, but I bought the DS first due to its innovative gameplay. I bought the PSP mainly because it has God Of War, and now Crisis Core and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts...or else, I wouldn't bother
My verdict: PSP: out of the box media and wifi capability, games with somewhat close to PS2 graphics n gameplay, great design but harder to fit in ur pocket Buy if u like: FFVII, GOW, KH, Racing games and Sport games with eye candy. DS: Innovative gameplay, graphics at par with PS1, N64 but some looks better (because displayed in a small screen). Buy if u like: Mario, Old school gaming, new type of gameplay, Phoenix Wright, RPG (remake of FF series), simulation etc and oh yeah...now got Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword. I still play both If u don't know how to decide, open up Gamespot, IGN or famitsu, then go to DS and PSP's editor's choice. Look at how many in that list got more games that u like...that's what I do b4. |

Ipod touch got lots of great games too with jailbreak. Can surf the net and check email. Listen music, videos. Choose ipod touch!
Back to main topic. This is an unfair question to ask people. Same goes to people asking whether PS3 or Xbox360 is better Fanboys aside, the best person to ask which console to choose is none other than yourself. Besides, If you chose the wrong console (touch wood), can you really blame the people who gave you their opinions here? It is their opinion, not yours. Read reviews, watch video reviews if you can. From there, you can get a good view of what you really want. psp.ign.com ds.ign.com www.gametrailers.com (For video reviews) Hope this helps. |

i have both and currently my ndsl is gathering dust
imho the ndsl games are rather kiddy and as mentioned above seems rather low quality (sorry ndsl fans psp is a much better all rounder and the cost is also quite close. psp home brew also very active with lots of stuff available and frequent firmware updates keeps on adding new features (like skype, internet radio, rss, remote play etc). it is also a powerful media player (although you have to encode for movies) and the mp3 playback sound quality is excellent (better than my 2gen nano). I bought a nds phat and then a psp phat and then a nds lite and planning to get a psp slim soon. I like alot of good games on both systems but i had a few probs with my psp and nds so i'll bring u the low down.
The differences between both is that : psp is an all-in-one packages with internet, mp3, skype, radio, wifi, photos etc. Can also play UMD movies (sold separately). also the games are long lasting especially for rpg games. the bad is that whether slim or phat its bulking to fit in pocket and has long load times for some psp games. nds has backwards compatibility with game boy advance games as well as support for voice chat for wifi-enabled games via the built-in microphone (ex: pokemon diamond, jump ultimate stars, advance wars: days of ruins, diary girl etc.) as well as a integrated chat program called pictochat similar to mirc but lan settings (need another nds to chat with) and best of all, you can attract girls into gaming. the bad is that you have to buy accessories for ur nds to have mp3, video, homebrew etc. and most games then to be short But then again i agree with msn83235502 & pmsoo. the games r wat matter the most and not the features so my best suggestion to u is buy both!!! But having said that, i use my ndsl more as a media centre when I'm out and about coz it fits nicely in my pocket and dun really nead a pouch for protection...alaa R4 and M3 not that pricey since most shops here included it in their package...and oh yeah...hassle free because u don't need to upgrade ur firmware.
