Added on December 26, 2008, 1:54 pmJust in case ppl are wondering if this Realtek Hi-Def Audio driver is supported by your mainboard, here are some tips:

1) Check the mainboard's website for specs on the audio chip used.
2) This Realtek HDA supports the following audio chipsets:

Vista WHQL Supporting:

ALC882, ALC883, ALC885, ALC888, ALC889, ALC861VD, ALC660, ALC662, ALC663, ALC665, ALC260, ALC262,ALC267, ALC268, ALC269, ALC272, ALC273, ALC887

Windows 2000/XP WHQL Supporting:

ALC880, ALC882, ALC883, ALC885, ALC888, ALC889, ALC861VC, ALC861VD, ALC660, ALC662, ALC663, ALC665, ALC260, ALC262, ALC267,ALC268, ALC269, ALC272, ALC273, ALC887

To answer Boyzgamers' question on his Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L, of course your board's audio chip is supported by this driver.

Always check your mainboard's website for detailed specs.

that's a question or a statement?

if a question, probably supported. this chipset is not listed in Realtek's site, but the driver works.

to save your time, download the readme/changelog document to see what's new/changed/fixed.

QUOTE(yasushi @ Mar 11 2009, 02:54 AM)
any "real" change in this last version?
*
there's a saying: "If It's Not Broken, Don't Fix It!" sweat.gif especially when the fix is minute ...

i wish they FIX the package size instead rclxub.gif

@ALL, instead of asking the same question on every release, just download the small Readme.pdf file. All changelogs are there, so if it's relevant to your problem, only then download it. Else, sit back and enjoy downloading other stuffs instead!
