May's Hobby Japan has loads of goodies. HGUC Nu, Zaku Minelayer, GN-Arms, preview of MG Gelgoog, MG Musha and Impulse CAD pics. Yuck, MG Impulse has those oversized V-fins and shoulder armour... the proportions just don't look right.

Those are prototype display units, brother... Only the Exia has been mass-produced as an 1/60, the ones shown on dannychoo was from the first exhibition of 00 gunpla which also showcased various prototypes. You sure have to have a lot of "cable" to be able to buy the other 3 in 1/60 form, maybe smuggle from Bandai's factory or something.

I thought the TG3 comes with the conversion parts for TG1 and TG2? The extra heads, dober gun, and shield.
You just need some paint to build the older Tallgeeses.

I would spend on an MG Tallgeese 1, no doubts about that.

OMFG... Now this tempts me MORE than Nu.

Will have to wait for the coloured prototype first... The proportions seem slightly better than the stumpy MG version, but the pics only show limited views which are inadequate to make a judgment at this stage.

2800 yen... cheaper than I expected, I speculated it to be slightly over 3000 yen. Wow a 17cm HGUC.... now that's almost as tall as an MG Zaku.

Strike Impulse? It's FORCE Impulse wei...

Well, it seems that my two complaints has become reality. The oversized V-fins, plus the lower tail binders which are too long. Other than that, it seems quite a nice kit.

Too bad it's 4500 yen... too expensive for a simple kit like the Impulse. Unless... it has some fancy tricks up its sleeve.

Still worth looking at it over and over again though.

Will the HGUC has such great proportions as this PG-Strike conversion? I doubt though...

That's the beauty of custom paint jobs. It doesn't necessarily suit everybody's taste, but you can't deny it was very well made. Anyway, I agree with you that the darker green parts would be better than teal.

WOW... looking good, but the feet are horrendously long. Same problems such as the oversized V-fins + long tail binders persist, and overall this Impulse is more reminiscent of the Freedom slim lines than the Destiny.

Oh well... can save money, I won't be getting this.

Yup.

The HGUC has a longer torso and a much better proportioned head. One of the main complaints of the MG Nu was the oversized head and short, stubby body. The HGUC's shoulder armours are slightly larger and prominent too.

However note that the legs are less detailed than the MG. Nevertheless it just need a simple dab of yellow at the vents to make it look great.

Overall it really looks nice, but for me the HGUC Nu is not on top of my purchase list despite being such an attractive figure, thanks to it's MG pricing. To be fair, it has a lot of MG gimmicks, so yeah.

Unless I have loads of spare cash, otherwise I'll save up for the HGUC Sazabi

If I were you I'd choose the normal versions.

IMO, the extra part worth paying extra for it just Destiny's WoL since it's harder to scratch built them. And of course it'll be really hard to recreate the polarised light effect of the plastic wings. Other extra stuff for me are just ain't worth it - bling bling armour? Nah... the exposed parts aren't that many and you can easily colour them with shiny paint. I thought chromed joints would have be more worthy of the extra price, not just extra-finished surfaces.

Posters and figurines? Nah... they ain't that important for me. Certainly not worth the extra 2200 yen. And when you're getting both, that's an extra 4400 yen which you could get an additional MG.... Maybe get MG Impulse as well to complete the GSD collection.

Oh well, looking forward to your new project.

The Quel's frame is not exactly similar to the MKII's. It's more GM like that the MKII, so I guess maybe they might use the v2 RX78 frame perhaps?
But if the Quel seriously gets an v2, MG Hazel should be released as well... in fact, it's long overdue. I suppose AoZ isn't that popular as expected? Yet it has quite a number of HGUCs.

Anyway... more Char poison.

Well the Nightingale is not exactly slow and useless... just look at the number of boosters and verniers. The O was a gigantic bulky MS yet it was one of the most agile units out there thanks to its massive amount of verniers and the superb skills of Scirocco.

Anyway, don't quote the pics please. It kills the page and the bandwidth... Put a spoiler tag or remove the [img] tags instead.

Wakao... I better stop looking at these pics before I change my mind of not getting the Impulse. The corefighter is absolutely stunning.

For some reason I like this Impulse more than the other overflashy GSD suits.

Luckily price is quite high... if 3500yen I sure succumb. Must save money for HGUC Sazabi and also my one year late Unicorn.

Yeah... really strange. It's more of a dramatic effect I suppose, since in the anime the excalibur really did show a shiny beam tip when it skewered the Freedom. Animation error, or just flashy bling bling, since the excalibur is not supposed to have a beam there.

For me I will choose MG. Either OYW version if you cannot wait, or just be patient for the imminent ver2.0 which will arrive before the end of this year.

The PG has size on it's side, yet bear in mind it's an old kit. It might have worse articulations and proportions compared to the newer OYW version, just like how the PG ZakuII is compared to the godsend ver2.0. Of course, the level of detail such as opening panels can only be found on PGs.

The Zaku v2's best gimmick is the crouching stance, which no other MG can mimick without looking awkward. The sliding sideskirts should be implemented in all future MGs.

The fingers however, are not a new feature. Old MG Doms have them already.
And one more thing, the MG Destiny and the upcoming Impulse feature a waist joint which rotates sideways, hence giving more posability to the waist for slashing poses. This is something that the Zaku lacks, but then again it's more of an additional feature rather than a vital one.

But yeah, Zaku II v2 = godsend.

Looks really fake, although the golden gaybot looks better proportioned than the horrible abomination shown in the anime.
Damn it, ditch the wings... it looks too cheesy.

Remember the HGUC Baund Doc advertisement? It seems uncannily similar to this too. Then again, it's profit-milking time for Bandai to regurgitate as many 00 kits as possible.

Woot... MG Gelgoog. Not many new toys, no backpack and shoulder cannon... might as well get the Char version. It's RED and has a horn, and Lalah too !!
