Still got warranty ma for 2 days. hehe...

But TS, suggest you save money and buy a branded 1. China brand cannot be trust. Scare the device run electric when you turn off your car and cause your battery empty.

well, old saying... what you pay is what you get...

i also have the same feeling like you TS, but when i think of long term, better off saving up and get a better brand. budget ones are around rm2k-3k... brand like JVC or Pioneer... Alpine also got below 3k...

i went to brothers also and i saw branded one selling from RM 2.5K to 4K.
there were many good brands until i really don't know which one to buy. there must be some special features in different brand. need to read those catalogue first b4 i buy.

bro... is not about dangerous that watching while driving.. is about theft. i have seen numerous of drivers switching on movies and animation via sunvisor and rooftop LCD. if you think it is dangerous, they (manufacturer) already come up with the solution which is whenever handbrake is down, you can never watch dvd movie, but seems ppl ignore and bypass it. watching dvd while driving is cooolllllllllllllllll....

Buying china brand mostly base on luck. Sometime it will last but most of the car acc shop will not recommended it, but if you still want to buy it they sell it.

i read some eonon reviews and it's bad man...

most of it broke down. Some had problems with volumes and stuffs.

I did found another one branded 'passion' but can't find any reviews for it. Featurewise it's quite savvy, got card reader, usb and stuffs..

anyone heard / used passion brand before? care to review?

i heard one of my friend says china brand also ok one.. he said don't trust reviews yawn.gif but i always read reviews first before bying things.. so far that action saves me a lot.

What do you guys think?

I went to an accessory shop and taukeh says china brand got lah but can't rely much as the one that's branded. But of course, if broke, all things will broke eventually...

seriously, eventhough u buy the most expensive china brand like FORYOU, it wont last long...that's the reason for me to stop selling china brand dvd player....while a branded but made in china player can last atleast after it's warranty period....simply 1 word, wat u pay, wat u get...

or alternatively if want to watch movie only, buy the standalone screen.

Then buy those plug in cigarette lighter player that can plays videos as well.

Cheaper solution

My advice is to save a bit more & get those entry models by Panasonic or Kenwood with similar specs which are now affordable & priced marketlly competitively for normal consumers. Mind you all these new units comes with highly reliable warranties from the product manufacturers thenselves. nod.gif

if u plan to visit the shop u got it more often, then you are ready to go with those player..just my 1st sen...
btw, there were some good china made player aroundd..the most advanced i saw is caska and they do make player for most saloon car like camry and accord. their price are as compettative to those branded player yet reliability is good. they were all come with usb and bluetooth. if your car comes with steering control, u can always program it back to ur fctory setting. no more losing steering control when upgrade players.

Seriously for long run, it is not worth your investment. As others sifu say, save up a bit for a reliable brand that last long and save the headache for sending the unit for repair. For me i prefer Pioneer, Sony and Alpine. Kenwood and Panasonic i dono much about but they are not into in car entertainment industry but more likely on eletrical appliances. So i doubt their quality.

I finally decided & grab the China 2 din "avsystem" cost me RM830..don't know what brand la..why I grab this?branded RM2k & China 830 i save around RM1.2k. Ask myself what actually i need? A OK sound, Ok picture then fine! The moat important to me -WORKMANSHIP!! I grabed a Sony CD player last time, wiring almost burn my car, friend check for me & shout "what kind of wiring technic is this?"! Go to the sincere & honest shop ask around & check out the logic & the patient..if description clear & balance then ask for the recommendation of China..I did it!

Nowadays who use a digital life for 5 yrs? Who use his phone for 5 yrs? If it c'ld tahan 2-3 yrs & only RM700 why not? Technology updated & device upgraded time to time..

If branded that serious..how many LV (real one) do you have? How many BMW do you have? Why you drive Myvi & Cary cheap bag? Why you DELL & not ACER or APPLE?

Buddy, purchasing according to your budget otherwise you better sleep wt your branded for worthy!! Haaa ..

Just the 2 cents

^My Nokia 6270 last me for 4years 10months without changing battery, all original parts. It fail because of cannot receive signal and too expesive to repair.
My Pioneer DEH-P7750 last me for 4 years also, still standing strong despite the pico fuse issue. Which used in my wife's car. Average 1 year is rm200 spent on this fellow.
My Pioneer DEH-P9650 last me for 2 years and now in my store room and once a while power it and no problem with it. This is rm300 per year and will go down some more.
My current P9 combo last me for 1.5 years till now and got some issues due to being conned by an acc shop for being never told me that the circuit board was wet. Is cheap but lucky that I'm a stripper of all the gears I got. If not I won't detect such problem. But still can be repair by cleaning the water mark surface, rm1000 per year for now on.

The above is some examples on getting decent brand products. But I really agree with you that buy according to your budget, not let the equipment budget's you.

I'm driving a Wira and no need to pay for it anymore. Was thinking to change a better ride, but considering now marketing gimmick is more important than safety, I decide to keep it. With that extra cash, is better to go vacation.

Lifetime warranty.... Well, this statement sometimes is kinda meaningless.
When talk about limited warranty, it never state clearly what is covered and what is not covered. So at the end of day, what is covered? I don't know.

well... all warranties are limited i would say... not all are covered... even buying life insurance, not all occurance is covered... and claiming is a pain in the ass...

but... some old school amps and some high end amps are build to last... like my old school amps which all are >10yrs old and still alive and kicking... of course there are some maintanance job to keep them, but heck that applies to everything as well...

cheers...

i've been using this china brand for almost 6 month - Passion (the brand name)

the performance quite impressive, the touch screen sensitivity also very impressive. this player almost all-in-1 build in. yes its true that branded 1 is better. but this 1 u can get all-in-1, not like the branded.

i bought it at price lebih kurang RM800. lets say the branded is RM3k, and this china-brand got problem after 1 year. u still can save by buy new 1.

and after 1-2 years, theres more technology coming and u can change with the latest tech. but for branded, u have to pay another RM3k for the thing.

this statement is only for peoples who dont have more extra money. but if you have lots/many of extra money, its better go for branded.

thats my opponion. if you want a china-brand - this Passion brand is recommended. compare to other china-brand.

sorry im make any mistakes or if this is not china-brand biggrin.gif

that's all

My Myvi factory HU only last about 3 years, after that the digital display disappear. It maybe due to heat inside the car since my car all the time park outside direct under the sun. I saw double din at Jalan Pasar Pudu audio shop only RM 399.
