Hmm just search through this thread but found no user bar. Only see Hinika created theme for P905i. Well its okay anyway smile.gif

Added on May 1, 2008, 11:05 amOut of all j-phones, are there any other phone that can receive sms more than 160(eng)/70(jap) chars? so far Stratos says SO905iCS can receive it in 2 seperate sms. How about other phones?

Hmm not sure about SO905iCS as tried last time can't receive multiple linked SMS. Tested NEC could receive multiple linked SMS.

I see. I only know for sure P905i are not made to receive sms longer than 160 chars... thats the second trade off for me...

Added on May 1, 2008, 12:28 pmAnyone here know possible to use speakerphone on p905i?

I noticed 5mpx photos taken by P905i have bigger file size compared to N95, averagely 800kb for N95 and 1mb for P905i.

Shinichi, the photo aren't so impressive. maybe because they are in big resolution. maybe can try to resize the photo to smaller resolution (eg. 640 x 480)
*
haha, photos resized to 800*600 smile.gif

~.~" i just realized this
5. can't use AAC/MP3/MP4 ringtones
from the 1st page P905i limitation. If cant use AAC/MP3/MP4 as ringtone then does it able to use WMA as ringtone?
*
Well imo it seems impossible to use customised ringtones on j-phones... this is the limitation you have to bear with...

customized ringtone can be used, Just there is a catch on the limit of file size not exceeding 500k or the length time for the tune. They use another format called he-aac if not mistaken, And if not mistaken should be able to use wma as ringtone. As always file size is restricted not beyond 500k for copyright reasons

p.s forgot to add, so far only a few model can accept variety of formats. Such are p905i with wm formats while so series with aac. None of the 905 series accepts mp3.
*
Hi, did you try to use personalised ringtone on your P905i? If yes what format is the file. As I read from hardwarezone that wma ringtone is possible only if you download it thru i-mode. If you want to transfer your tone thru card reader / usb connection, only panasonic ringtone format is accepted?

Anyway P905i users here, are you able to use speaker phone by pressing call button again during call?

Thanks.

I think hardwarezone has compiled a list of guides. You can try to refer to the guide as its made specifically for p905i. Erm, no, I don't use customized ringtone because I like the default all ringing sound. its the loudest
*
Well I also read from there thats the only way for you to get customised ringtone on P905i here is using this method:

QUOTE
3. SMF/MLD

Requirements:
- Yamaha MLD WAV-MA2 converter
- PSMPlayer
- microSD card reader or USB cable (set to microSD mode)

file format must be .smf or .mld
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=1892278

I tried using PSMPlayer to convert wave but failed. Not sure if the wav format I used is not supported...

tried benny+digi, not so stable on p905i... when signal out must do CPR to recover signal (maxis no need, just restart phone will recover signal).

wana ask..in 1 day..how many tyms do u need to restart? and in a week how many?  hmm.gif if 1 day so many tyms..aiyaa..  doh.gif
*
Erm I didn't really count. With Benny+Digi, when I travel to and back from work (tanjung bunga <-> bayan lepas), sometime will signal out, so need to restart. Other time is it auto shut down, so I need to switch on the phone again. Roughly 1 day the phone will auto shutdown 2-3 times.

I also used same type of digi sim same as you.

I guess Digi sim more or less are the same, either its the old 16k, 32k or latest 64k simcard with 1000 contacts storage...

so your digi sim able to detect by benny sim?

hi..i need a jap phone with T9 dictionary and full working camera, music and mp3 ringtones capability..is there such a good thing? any recommendations?

thanks biggrin.gif
*
for T9 and cam, you can look for N905i. music should be so905i/so905ics. and mp3 ringtone is impossible on j-phone.

y less ppl using celcom ?
y celcom mean for entrepreneur ?
*
What I heard is most business person use celcom coz better coverage,

For me in my contacts only 5% is using celcom. rest is maxis/digi.

So i feel you should check your contacts and see if you should choose maxis/celcom.
