Hello.

I'm very interested in learning violin and I contacted a tutor. Her price is RM100. As I also want to learn theory, she charged an additional RM30 which makes the total RM130.

I want to ask, is RM100 reasonable for a beginner course in violin? What is the price Yamaha offers? I'm just doing a little comparison. biggrin.gif

Thank you. biggrin.gif

Music background? I learnt chromatic harmonica when I was younger but I quit few years ago. I also played the trumpet in primary. I think this is considered as music background. laugh.gif

Ya, mine is also 4 lessons per month but 45mins per lesson, I'm taking theory. I don't mind if it's hard to play violin because I'm quite determined to learn it. smile.gif

Thank you for replying.

Thank you for your advice! I'll be starting my lessons in next month. Ya, I heard some horrible sound violin created. Is it because of the wrong tune or what? Anyway I'll get to play soon! biggrin.gif

well, because unlike the guitar/piano, u dont hit the notes and get the right pitch.

So i recommend playing infront of a tuner, at least u know u are playing in-pitch or off-pitch  tongue.gif

haha dun really get u le..i thought there's a tuner that could be used on the pc hmm.gif

anybody know where to get a cheap tuner?? haha till now i still depend on my tutor to tune it for me..

btw... dun really recommend u to get a real expensive violin as your 1st violin
