well i guess you can, but bear in mind it's gonna make the card run at higher temps, and sometimes if you oc over it's limit it can spoil the card. can cause artifacts, or even worse, your card might not boot up at all..

QUOTE(chaosneo @ Aug 6 2008, 09:20 PM) maybe they got a bulk cheap purchase & want to sell it off in large quantity? maybe just like the Foxconn 9800GX2 which was selling at RM950 last 2 weeks at a particular shop in lowyat. it sure got clear out fast. i wanted to grab one but was too late... i think if got bulk also not so cheap leh..rm350 wor..if it's 9600gt then maybe ok la..but 9800gt?? maybe the price is rm530..typo rm350.. sure many ppl go pczone ask for that card, see see not rm350..

3-way sli is only for high end models. i cant really remember which models exactly low end models like 8400gs do not have 3 way sli. they dun even have sli connectors on them. midrange models only have 2-way sli. unless it's done via software without connecting the sli bridge, then it's a different story.

my friend had a laptop with intergrated geforce 6150, it was running at 80+ to 90C when load. quite scary though. luckily it did not melt the parts inside. IMHO 56 idle and 65 load is still quite ok.

QUOTE(168257061 @ Aug 21 2008, 03:28 PM) hmm, try Artic Cooling Accelero if you're budget is thicker , try look for Thermal Right HR-03 both are just heat sink , fan not included. 95C just wont fry up 8800ultra reminds me of my bro's biostar 7300gt. passive cooling, idle temp around 80+C, load temp can exceed 100C! dunno why it's super duper hot. tried various methods to improve airflow in the case, but i dont think it worked. after about a year or so using it, it died.

nope..cant find a fan that can suit the mounting holes. 3rd party heat sinks are overbudget..so just left it like that lo..good thing that it was a cheap card. if not sure sakit hati.

i guess it doesnt really matter vertical or horizontal. wat's important is the air is blowing pass the card, keeping the card cool.

usually the fan has 3-pins and it connects to the headers on your motherboard. if your motherboard don't have enough, usually when you buy fans they provide extensions with 4-pin molex which connects to the power supply. it's ok to just put the fan inside without attaching it to anything if you don't move your case. for me i usually put cable ties at 2 corners at least, just to secure it into position.

depends how many molex your psu have, but usually fans don't take up much power 3 or 4 is normal i guess. regarding the headers on mobo, depends on what type of mobo. some high end mobos got more than 3 or 4 fan headers. low end ones might have 2 at least. you might wanna limit the number of fans in your casing, you don't want your case to sound like a jumbo jet when it's on

QUOTE(User_Xp @ Aug 23 2008, 03:02 PM) 9800GT cost only rm500?? regret buy 9600GSO earlier... you can always use the 9600gso for physx, and the 9800gt to render graphics...

shouldn't it shut down already at 15x C? IMHO usually the alert or shutdown temp is around 120+C...

i would rather have less performance, than to have blue screens popping up at anytime when i play games. try reverting to the old driver as 016 said. you might not even notice the small increase in performance when using the new driver.
