It depends on your ambient temp. Previously I had 1.4Vcore in an air cond room and load temp can hit up to 70C w/ stock cooler.

I see..... hmmm..... planning to keep the temperature around 60-65'c...... your IFX-14 still available? brows.gif

@Silverfire - how much vcore do you need to run 3.24Ghz? hmm.gif

Added on for the line.
1.3856v in BIOS selection, BIOS reads 1.376v and CPU-Z reads 1.376~1.392v to get stable 333x9 3Ghz rclxm9.gif
*
Aiyak.... but Intel specs says it's operating vcore is up to 1.5v wor....

Nice...... will be joining you guys soon.... gonna get a E2160! rclxms.gif

Testing my E2160 now (for my 2nd rig)..... a bit weird with the core temperature.....

Using my old cooler master hyper 48 HSF..... core temp shows 51'c @ 2.6Ghz @ stock..... however, smartguardian shows a similar temperature....

For my Q6600, when the core temp is at 61'c..... smartguardian would show around 51'c...... rclxub.gif

Must be the Tjunction thingy again..... so does the E2160 have a 85'c or 100'c Tjunction? hmm.gif (Most forums say 85'c...)

Will post some pics after I get a stable OC.... smile.gif

Here's some pics - E2160 OC to 3.0Ghz on DFI Blood Iron....

CPU VID 1.325v
BIOS vcore +50mV (1.375v)
CPUz idle 1.360v
CPUz load 1.344v

Orthos will get errors at 3050mhz.....

E2160 should be able to get 3.0Ghz with stock vcore..  smile.gif

I don't think mine can..... anyway, I was lazy to test at stock so I bumped up the voltages to see how high it could go.

At 1.425v set in BIOS, load at 1.392v, it was stable at 3132mhz.....

I'm gonna settle for 3100mhz (now orthosing at 1.4125v in bios) due to my not-that-good Cooler Master Hyper 48...

My E2160 @ 333*9 3ghz 1.3811v in BIOS selection, BIOS reads 1.3600v while CPU-Z reads 1.352~1368v.
*
Mine only slightly better. 336*9 @ 1.375v set in BIOS.

1.360v in windows CPUz idle
1.344v in windows CPUz load (orthos)

QUOTE(flatfinger @ Apr 2 2008, 07:15 PM)
its depend on what mobo u r using...last time when using ds3 board..i also can do 3.0GHz at stock...but after change board to Blood Iron...need to feed voltage

kmarc...my Blood Iron board have stable vdroop at 0.032v...my stable setting

3.0GHZ 333x9
vbios = +25.0mv
CPUz idle 1.360v
CPUz load 1.328v
For mine:

3.024Ghz @ 336*9
Vbios = +50.0mv
CPUz idle 1.360v
CPUz load 1.344v

Looks like my vdrop is more and vdroop is less compared to your blood iron....

Here's my E2160 OC capabilities....

Didn't really test the OC limits at stock (failed at 2790mhz)..... could be due to low NB strap..... didn't test further after increasing the NB strap....

Other OC results only after 1 hour of orthos....

What do you guys do? Buy 10 procs and search for the best one? tongue.gif

Anyway, I roughly know the capabilities of my proc. Once I get a graphic card this weekend, gonna try it out on the E2160.

Gonna see whether there is any difference in OCing using 8-pin +12v versus 4-pin +12v.....

Hi sifu2 biggrin.gif how to overclock Ram?
now im stuck in Ram frequency i think.
mine Kingston DDR2 667 2 X 1G Hynix FP-Y5 chip.
can't increase my ram freq over 750mhz shakehead.gif
timing is 5-5-5-15
*
That could be the limit of your rams, unless you increase the vdimm.

What's your vdimm at the moment?

maybe my Ram not good enough..wanna borrow my friend DDR2 800.. brows.gif

Then it's probably not your rams.... did you try lowering your CPU overclock and just overclocking the rams? Could be your northbridge too....

Vmch is about 1.3-1.4v default depending on your mobo.

How high can your FSB go with that setting? Try overclocking your FSB only (meaning lower multipler for CPU and rams...)

You shouldn't need much increase in Vmch.... even for my Gigabyte P35-DS3, I only need Vmch +0.1v to get it to 470-480mhz bus speed.....

to all sifus here.. which clock setting is suggested by u all to run at 24/7?

Your OC is good. You could probably push it higher.

However, to stress the CPU, don't use "blend test". Use "Small FFTs - stress CPU"..... smile.gif

i tot nid to stress the ram togater? no nid?? 3.0 @ 1.3v is for 24/7 setup.. the ram runing @ 333mhz 3-3-39 better or 400mhz @ 4-4-4-12?
*
If you're overclocking your CPU, then you have to stress it first with "Small FFTs". This will stress the CPU to the max. Once you know it is stable at whatever OC you've set, only then do you stress your whole setup using "blend" test....

If you have the money, then IFX is the best...... drool.gif

1) Blood Iron couldn't post with crucial 10th anny installed  icon_question.gif
Anyone try 10th+ BI combination before? icon_question.gif
2) Blood Iron NB heatsink, can i remove it without voiding the warranty? It's very hot and kissing my HP-1204 air cooler  sad.gif
[attachmentid=454144]
3) The ram slot hard to close/open with gc installed
[attachmentid=454145]
4) Not enough JFAN port to use ( 3 only)  cry.gif
I have 4 JFAN ports for my AMD matx mobo TA690G  sweat.gif
5) Issit possible to flash LAN Party UT or DK P35 bios into blood iron?  hmm.gif
I need CMOS reload function badly  cry.gif

guidance & suggestion are needed, thanks in advance  notworthy.gif
will try to bench further once I'm free  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Nice. What stable OC settings are you running 24/7? hmm.gif

My 2nd rig is using BI + 10th anni + E2160..... no problems at all....

If the sticker is there, then you will void the warranty if you removed it. My mobo was a 2nd-hand RMAed mobo that came back without the sticker.... so I happily changed to a 3rd party HSF.... laugh.gif

Yup. This mobo only has 3 JFAN, with only one with 4-pins.... even my GA-P35-DS3 has 4 JFAN with 2x 4-pins, so that I can control them using software apps....
