May i know your BI using which version of bios?
do you mind to show me some ram oc screenshot on BI? thanks in advance  notworthy.gif
I've installed a small fan on the stock NB heatsink, the temp is acceptable to me now
anyway thanks for the info mate, really appreciate it  notworthy.gif

Sure, but my E2160 is not a good proc, VID 1.325...

My settings:

E2160 : 3040mhz @ Vcore 1.400v (bios set), 1.376v (load)
10th anni : 932mhz @ 4-4-4-12 @ 2.05v (bios set)
BI bios dated : 13th Sept 2007

Closed case system..... my NB gets hot too..... sweat.gif

What's your NB temp at load? Naked rig right? hmm.gif

Here's my pic, 100% load doing folding.... smile.gif

able to bench with my 10th, happy rclxm9.gif
here's my latest result for super pi 1M ,

Wow! A E2140 G0 stepping???? That's a really excellent OC and a gem proc!!! thumbup.gif

Maybe your NB voltage is a bit low? I had to set my NB voltage to 1.37v to get the FSB to run over 350mhz.... smile.gif

now im running on 375 x8 = 3Ghz @ 1.440v sweat.gif
the chip voltage like u guys talk about im also not sure lor... sweat.gif

QUOTE(sempronic @ May 10 2008, 02:31 AM)
yup..M0 stepping...not sure good or not....still trying to tweak..just now BSOD...
pump a little bit vcore....look like im not lucky in picking up intel proc.. sweat.gif
*
That's a bit too high even for a E2160 M0 stepping...... even my not-so-good E2160 needs only 1.400v (bios set) to get to 3.0-3.1Ghz.....

You sure it is not due to other factors such as NB or rams?

erm...guys .....if i oc the e2160 to 266*9 = 2.4 ....and cut low the volt to 1.288 orginal is 1.3250v......will cut it life?  and how use the prima5 to test? sweat.gif
*
You can OC to 3.0Ghz and still have a relatively long CPU life.

Just run Prime95 "Small FFTs" which will stress your CPU.....

i noe.. but if i were to oc it past 1066fsb wat will happen??
*
Remember that the "Support 1066mhz FSB" on motherboard usually refers to the rams and NOT the CPU FSB. Which one are you referring to? hmm.gif

Current mobos' FSB e.g. P35, runs much higher than that

but mine is based on 945P chipsets.. so the max fsb is 1066 only.. aiya.. how to say ah.. i mean if i oc past 1066fsb will tat mobo supports it?? i am using asus p5ld2-se..
*
945 chipset? Errr.... no experience with that chipset...

I guess the only way you will know is to try it out and see...

Take a look at this thread : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/616852

They are also using the 945 chipset but can OC the FSB higher then 266mhz (i.e. higher than 266 x 4 = 1066mhz)

Back to my problem....I'm still getting stuck at 3Ghz with my E2160....have tried the latest BIOS release for the IP35-E alraedy and still getting nasty amounts of Vdroop....any suggestions?
*
Still getting stuck? You mean you have been trying for a while?

What's your vcore reading (bios and load) and temperature?

how say vdrop? sweat.gif ...my cpuz.....show the volt ....always will no same 1 sometime high somwtime low....is it vdrop? and .....just now i boot in window....after few min then hang @@....what happen guys? need guide ....2 time alredy  shocking.gif
*
You can read more about vdrop/vdroop in my "Overclocking a C2D/C2Q guide". It's in my sig.

Fluctuation in vcore can be due to EIST/C1E settings and also due to vdroop which varies depending on whether your CPU is at idle or load.
