what i am trying to say is...Celcom suck nowasday as compared few years back....

and i am one of the bloody idiot who bought the 1st few Huawei modem which cost me 1.4k back then
I have been Celcom customer for many years..

now not only their Celcom broadband sucks, imaging their international SMS roaming also down for two month when i try to sms my sis holidays in Siam Reap last two month .

it show the how bad is their service now.....coming Sep...with my celcom number ...i can jump ship...yahooo to maybe Digi...
No more paying the D68 anymore as it give me more grief and pain..

i think ur statement is bias. when Celcom came out 1.5 years back, it was FASTTTTTTTTTTT. now like turtle, too many users. depends on area too. Some place where there are not many user, the speed is wayyyyy much better, stable etc.

try u Mobile elsewhere, or try in Sandakan, can u get mobile broadband? NO

surf lowyat..tak boleh...but surf US site...cepat...pening///i think sudah two nite macam ini

pagi ini at 3am terbangun....all surf and downloading allll fulll speed...

QUOTE(9M-MAS @ Sep 3 2008, 10:00 AM)
Good thing that they are actually limiting sign up - I imagine until they upgrade their bandwidth / backhaul - otherwise we'll have another Celcom / Maxis overselling their services without being able to deliver while still collecting money from users...

Added on September 4, 2008, 6:01 amLast night while speed was faster than usual I cannot browse quite a number of sites (some can, some cannot)....anybody experienced this?

facing the same problem here as well....

eversince i changed to U58.....It always show "SIM Network Reject" on my 3G Watcher Software for At & T Sierra Wireless AirCard 875U.

U38 package will operate as normal coz maybe it is on voice and data mode.

Anyway i force it to autoreconnect everything i put the USB modem....so far it have never fail me until yesterday late evening.

Like 9M-MAS experience.....it always disconnect.....and if in my case my 3G Watcher display HSDPA signal,i have no problem of surfing and downloading but when disconnect it show 3G signal....many many time yesterday until i call it a nite.

this morning......always the same symptom until i decided to create a Dial up so as it able to reconnect everytime it disconnect...thru IDM where my downloading were queing...hehehe

and this bypass trick work so far....

i am not using e220 modem by the way.
i am using the Orange Globe Trotter Module HSDPA as stated in the network connection properties.
i modify manually from there although like setting the autoconnect from "0" to "1" and autoreconnect as well.
but it always give me error and cannot connect at all.

WHat i do is auto restart and now it seem the setting somehow embbeded in the Win XP system and cannot be reset back to original status.

Well,as long it work as what i wan....let it be...
hehehe

U mobile rockssss daytime but night time...nightmare....can't surf at alll............but can download but sometime got hiccup.
At less,,,it is muchhhhhhhhhh better than SiowCom...hahaha

i also facing the connection have failed problem sometimes.
sometime restart might help or better yet,try reconnect maybe 30min lator

i believe if Umobile got connection failure will also apply to Celcom as well.

Yup ...pay RM58 until end Dec this year still much better deal than paying RM98 for Celcom but mind u...coverage for UMobile is Klang Valley while Celcom is country wide (almost lah)

for me,i have a postpaid Celcom which i will subcribe to unlimited daily plan if i were to travel out of klang valley...just treat it as cheaper if compare paying if surfing from hotel room.

QUOTE(saki_kawaii @ Oct 14 2008, 07:34 PM)
i'm using u mobile in shah alam. u58 without modem. i hv option gtmax 3.6mbps express card

got activated yesterday, 13oct after registered on 23 august
yeah took damn long time
at first it seems that my number was 'given' to someone else.
then on 30august, i think, went to the dealer where i registered n he said it's their fault so they would try to help me change my number and get activated.
so finally got activated yesterday

verdict?

speed very good during day (compared to celcom 98 that i'm also using now). download speed reaches 230KB/s. and stable around 150-170KB/s.
the highest that i got with celcom 98 is 120 KB/s, early in the morning. Rarely, though. normally around 40-50KB/s if i'm lucky

frequent dc. but it's okay for me as long as the speed is good.

speed at night? also good, but not as good as during day. BUT last nite around 10pm it dc-ed and i couldnt reconnect. "connection has failed", my option gmax said.

now? the same thing happened. so i'm using celcom 98 to post this.

well, sometimes celcom also like that (cannot reconnect) so i dunno what's wrong.

planning to cut my celcom 98 if my umobile is better than celcom since i'm a student and paying rm58 a month is a lot more affordable for me than rm98

What modem u using anyway??

QUOTE(saki_kawaii @ Oct 15 2008, 04:29 PM)
well, i dont travel that much (except when i go to my hometown. but my home got streamyx) so it doesnt matter if umobile's coverage is only at Klang Valley. i pay 98 for celcom n yet i only use it here at shah alam.

i think i'll stick with u mobile until i graduate. when i'm working maybe i'll consider other isp, depending to where i got posted

bout the connection failure, yep i tried reconnect after around 30min to 1 hour, n it works ^^

where to change and how to change?

QUOTE(jesselau88 @ Oct 24 2008, 01:35 AM)
i found a way to improve the surfing speed especially when it is slow at night by changing the DNS Server to OpenDNS (must use manual connection)

its much more faster compared to the default DNS

UMobile coverage klang valley mostly on data plane but for voice call should be no problem as it is piggyback on Celcom tower.

u right on HSDPA thingy as UMobile can ONLY run but once it is on 3G...then it die like shitty SiowCom..

i am not reseller here....but i can tell u this,Celcom is as worse as UMobile even if their coverage is almost the whole malaysia.

QUOTE(ngavarta @ Nov 15 2008, 10:24 PM)
<<A user review after 1/2 year usage>>

PLEASE YOU GUYS, DON'T EVEN MENTION ABOUT Kbps; dun lying ... the service is the worse broadband I've tried ... overally worse than dialup (that's the bottom line)!!!

THOSE PPL HERE says they can download movies using UMOBILE, please ... you can't even access  internet probably ... dun mention about downloading!!!

AND one last fact, Umobile ONLY run on HSDPA ... so even with full 3G coverage in places like JB ... you can't use it, I believe same case in Ipoh ... USELESS piece of SHIT ... thinking of throwing it away!!!

I think those ppl who say NICE thing about Umobile here is those reseller, post a lot of scam post .. to cover up those REAL user review.

Don't ever think about applying it, let it die off ...
