the reason why the rams are having that ratio is coz the e6550 runs at 333Mhz i believe and at default your ram runs at 533Mhz. So if u do set it at default. Then the ratio is set as

333:533 = 1:1.6 NOW, thats why when u set your FSB to 400Mhz, it became

400:400*1.6 = 400:640

So your rams are at 640Mhz*2 = 1280Mhz. See the logic now?
*
Yea i get the logic, the thing is how to set the ram to perform lower? and up my CPU? do i have to do it from BIOS? or can do it in windows?

go to the BIOS,. and search for the FSB:DRAM ratio and set it to either 1:1 or 1:1.2 smile.gif

Erm.. of course i have enter my BIOS before.. -.-" BTW, my board revision is the latest 1 i think. P35-DS3P F7 , the bios firmware i think..

You can check your board revision on the board itself only, on the top left corner. It's written there.

?? No ler.. it's a DDR2 lai de.. DS3P dun support DDR3. What is that suppose to mean? I'm blur.. lolz..

bro, i mean your mem speed is too high, that why it's fail, check in the BIOS setting, there is option for mem i.e, 400,533,667,800 and 1066, try set 800 only..

It'll be something called SPD Multiplier for your board... Try setting it to 2.0 or 2.4 and lower your RAM timing, at the same time check the vdimm. If it's 1.8, set +0.2 in your BIOS.

why do u even have to worry about the revision... just worry about the SPD multiplier or something related to that ratio

But his guide suites me the most even tho it's not the exact model, but i'm able to keep up since almost all of the item are somehow similiar.. =)
