let me give u a hand

1.download 3 garmin mXT installer (software,freebasemap&supportfiles)
2.connect your n95-8gb and select data storage
3.launch GMXT's installer (one at a time) and select N95 8gb mass storage drive.
4.get the unlock key by googling around
5.download the map from Malsingmaps (January2008 - free map)
6.unzip the map and paste it into the garmin folder in n95 8gb drive.
7.disconnect the phone and it will prompt u to launch GMXT. ignore it.

once everything done, you reset the phone.

And the go outside with clear sky and try to get GPS coordinates.

Thanks.....I manage to install Garmin Mobile XT into my N95 8gb with malysingmaps works fine but only not the latest version 2.27 malsingmaps. Could not find the unlock key to unlock the maps. Any anyones know where to get the unlock code using the key generator for malsingmaps.

Other than garmin mobile XT any other gps software that we can put into n95 8gb. like Igo8, route 88.....etc. Can anyone share out what gps software currently using.

congrats to you. finally u manage to install and use GMXT. i would just recommend using GMXT instead of iGo, route88, tomtom, or any others because they dont have updated malaysia maps. but you can try use googlemaps. i tried mine, not bad, but will be using gprs more intensively because not only its for agps, it is used to download the map as well. smile.gif

if u got the keygen to unlock gmxt, it is also use the same way for the maps. just google around. plenty of guides... have patience and u will get it through. wink.gif

Added on June 4, 2008, 9:38 amunless u use v2.27 gold version which has self extract and map making, if not, the normal v2.27 need some other software to patch it all.. which is a hassle if u ask me.

why dont u go malsingmaps and try contribute some point of interest... that will enable you to get the unlock code. wink.gif if u contribute enough, you might as well get the gold version with updated POIs..

Thanks for ur suggestion. Let say , if i want to travel to other asia countries like japan, china (especially cos will be travelling this year december) i thought of using route 66 cos they have a china maps. For gmxt, i read lot forum saying that i need to have the taiwan version and have to to a upgradefrom .60 to .80 for me to use the china gps maps. Very complicate to me and have to change some setting that i dun understand. Do you have any idea which software to use.

i have problem viewing youtube. When i go to their website i 'click' watch video, real player comes out and 'connecting' eventually fail to connect.

I have some tips to tell during my trip to us. I opened garmin without download us map. I actually can see where am i. Some major highway and area name. But cant do any navigation.
