seafood here is generally fresh. but price wise, some are even more expensive than in KL. need to go until teluk kumbar for cheap one: eg. Good Friend Seafood restaurant. Teluk Kumbar also got famous mee udang. Ju Hu Char is a very common dish leh.. even my mom knows how to cook it. I don't know where to get good one. but this gal's blog got a recommendation:

Abu Siti Lane is about 15 minutes away from Komtar.

If you come to BM then I know where to recommend you to eat.. here got YAM RICE, Malay Char Koay Teow, Duck Egg Char Koay Teow, White Wantan Mee.. and a couple of great seafood restaurants. I didn't grow up in the island so I am not too sure myself rofl
