i stayed at D'Ferrenghi hotel september last year.
it was rm100 per night i think. rooms are very small but clean, something similar to tune hotels. got aircond, parking and breakfast too. its next to park royal if not mistaken. hotel was quite new when i was there, not sure about it now.

My bf experience before during Raya coming back from Thai border to KL. Took almost 20 hours.

So I guess you can see how many people go up north too.

Thailand jam not very bad, of course the border going in will have lots of people and the lines will be everywhere but that's another story since you won't be driving up until the border. The traffic gets very bad once reach Malaysia.

You'll take hours just to stop at a rest area, have to park your car probably 5km away and walk to rest area at the side of the highway.
Suggest don't drink so much water and bring enough snacks with you.

Last time class trip if go Penang, on the way back will go Cameron for short trip.

Nice beach and Lumut shouldn't be in the same sentence.
