Shopping:
Note: We are nowhere near the fancy KL, Klang Valley and Selangor.

All we have here is:
1) Queensbay Mall - about 75% the size of Midvalley (excluding Gardens). Not much people there unless it's weekends and public holiday. A lot of shops situated there and Penang Island one and only Jusco is there.

2) Gurney Plaza - This is our "in" place and Penang's flagship shopping complex. I can say it's our 1-U and with a new wing coming up this August, expect more stuff to 5) be coming in.

3) Prangin Mall - This is another "category" of shopping. Well, to make things easy, this is considered Penang's "Sg. Wang" to a lesser extent. Cheap, tacky and rare stuff are all there. This is the place to go if you want to see another face of Penang or buy IT Stuffs.

4) BJ Complex and Midlands - These are the two "fallen" complexes, much like Subang Parade a few years ago. I wouldn't expect them to be revitalize again unless somebody really rich comes in to buy over them. This is also another place to get IT Stuffs.

5) Komtar - I felt embarassed to say anything about this. This place is basically almost dead if it wasn't for the offices for the state government and authorities are still there. 20 years ago this is the de facto most happening place in Penang.

I stay at Gurney Hotel, quite far away from Gurney Plaza although it's just down along the road. I think the price there is cheaper. Rooms have broadband internet access. Breakfast is great. RM 240++

If drive from KL, where to exit in penang ah? I wan to go by ferry. So exit which tol?

If you cannot afford Rasa Sayang/Hard Rock, you should look Park Royal (300++) or Holiday Inn (200++).Too bad my favorite hotel there are closed for renovation. All located at Bt Feringghi. Elsewhere, opt for Tg Bungah, Paradise Sandy Bay or Copthorne Orchid may be suit your budget. Bt Feringghi more happening at night because got Bazaar for look and see

Anybody tell me what are the 'must-stop' food pit-stop along the way from KL to Penang??? E.g I know there's a famous seafood restaurant @ Bukit Tambun (if I'm not mistaken) which sells weird but delicious siput like the 'helicopter' siput. Any other cool stops along the journey that you can suggest???

High class is Gurney Plaza la. QB is ok ok nia. Times Sq is dying! Roll bowling ball also can't hit anybody on a weekend!

Yea.. I think Gama is doing much better than Pacific in Komtar (which has nobody going there from what I hear)... Komtar should have kept its Sungei Wang feel.. I think a lot of people enjoy that kind of place...

No idea where Paragon is opening but judging from the development of a few companies.. there are more malls to come within this 5 years.. LOL
