guys，any idea for 9 person accommodation，looking for reasonable apartment for 3days 2nite，still looking...

Will be going to penang in the next two weeks.. checked out some shopping places

1) KOMTAR - Quite old nothing much to see
2) Queensbay Mall - Longest mall ,
3) Gama Shopping Centre - same as komtar
4) 1st Avenue Shopping Mall - nothing much a few branded brands is there like coach / cotton on .
5) Prangin Mall - lala & ah beng place , lot's of cheap stuffs there
6) Straits Quay - High class place to eat , nothing to shop
7) Gurney Plaza - Good place to shop around but be early to avoid jam in the car park area .

Read that Komtar is quite old, and has nothing much to offer today. Just would like to know - are these places generic in nature, and should I make an effort to visit them all? As far as I know, (3), (4) and (5) are close to each other. Treating this visit as a relaxation, so don't mind splurging a bit. My (could be wrong) impression of night bazaars are of knicks knacks and little trinklets which I totally have no interest in. Any recommendations, guys?

Any hostel or hotel that recommend for 4 days 3 nights  jalan jalan makan makan trip, for 1 person  ?

Basically I will be in penang for the food! So going to some of the malls, probably will help to take a breather, and "cool off" between all the treats!

I'm planning to go to Penang around November or early December.
My purpose to go there is = To Jalan-jalan and makan-makan,a little shopping and just enjoys myself,relaxing from working days.
I will go there using Air Asia cause now they have promo.
I know nothing about the best hotel or the best stall/restaurant food, shopping mall there.
So, i need suggestion from Lowyat Fren who know bout that.

Which Hotel?
If can, the hotel must be not so far from all the great kedai makan/stall/restaurant,mall.

Which area have popular food?

Which mall that ok to go.

Renting a car? I think i will need a car there.So any suggestion on where to rent?How much the rate?

I am planning to drive to Penang next week from KL with 8 of my college mate. Staying there for 2 days and 1 night. It is quite a short period. Planning to leave KL about 6am and reaching there about 12pm or 1pm. Check in at 2pm. What can we do after that? Could anyone tell me or suggest what can we do beside visit temples and gardens?

Honestly, I had been Penang twice with family November last year. Every time we went to the same location. Kek Lok Si, Penang Hill, those gardens or buttery farm. But this time, I'm going with friends. Most of them were not interested in those as, well, I mean is actually quite common cause we visit the same attraction every trip. No offense here.

Is there something else we can do? Any recommendation? Like maybe beach? Appreciate your help.

but then when i try it 2 years ago, it was really sub-par only. I will go for edo-ichi anytime instead =.='

Yeah, road side parking. No meter but got majlis perbandaran personal will take care of the place until 9PM only.
After that is at your own risk.

I am biased.  If this is a trip for relaxing, find a hotel along Batu Ferreinghi or Tanjung Bungah.
