daorae at tanjung tokong is still good. the only one i can think of is Sa Rang Chae Korean Restaurant opposite penang chinese girls school

for chinese style dinner in town, my family and i usually frequent Foong Wei Heong Restaurant at sri bahari road. they have seafood options inside.
there's another old school chinese restaurant in town = tek sen restaurant at lebuh carnarvon, highly rated on tripadvisor, ang mo all like haha
if u like to explore out of town, head towards batu maung to a place named chai seafood, good seafood and reasonably priced
Hai Boey Seafood at Teluk Kumbar is also famous
or head to tambun on the mainland for some good seafood too

remember to drop by this cafe named narrow marrow on carnorvan, they serve tuak/toddy, give their toddy mojito a try
