Got something to do with the phone .... will update after the operation done.

Good morning ... errrr ... tengah hari everyone. Ok now comes the operation report. Slept at 5 last night experimenting.

1. Downgrade BL4.6 to BL3.9FB - SUCCESS

2. Restore to 1.1.4 with 04.04.05_G - SUCCESS

3. Jailbreak, Activate and Unlock (latest baseband) - SUCCESS

4. Manually restoring datas and mods - IN PROGRESS

5. Playing with my newly downgraded phone - ALWAYS

hehehehehehe. Screenshot coming later. Need to do so testing. I've use ZiPhone, iPlus2.0b, iphone-tools 1.1.4a and eZiPhone just to test which one is better. Even modify the payload for iPlus so it won't install BSD and others (i Prefer telesphoreo). Mmmm ... for now better stick with ZiPhone if u just need to jailbreak and Activate as this is the easiest one and proven. iPlus and iphone-tools still have issues with jailbreaking and activating. Maybe later try again.

One thing that i notice (and happend to nokia2003) is dat after all this i can straight use the phone and sms. No need to apply apsupport patch. Do u guys face this or u never tested and straight install the patch?

Got few questions ... i tot the apps should be in /private/var/mobile or izzit just the Library? Looks like appsupport fix is not for the phone os sms crash. Its for phone number matching. My bad ... still thinking 1.1.2 hehehehehehe. Need to upgrade my knowledge sumore. Telesphoreo is far superior than BSD subsystem so i recommend users if u just restore, use cydia telesphoreo rather than the OLD BSD subsystem. No need SUID or Term backspace issue fix. I can even change the password to SSH whereas if using BSD, the system would crash. One more thing i notice is that when i disable EDGE from bosspref (services don't work for me this time), the phone loss signal and wifi and return back after finish disabling (take like 1-2 secs). This don't happen on 1.1.2 using services. No problem so far ... the battery seems to improve. 1% battery depleted within 6 hours of standby. Ok ... thats the initial findings.

LaskarCinta ... if u have BSD in the first place, just install Cydia. It will handle everything to delete the old BSD. No need to install fake-BSD. U can't even find it anywhere.

The fake-BSD only appear in installer if u never install BSD before and install Cydia (telesphoreo). BSD fake is to fool apps that require the OLD BSD to function. Its just a symlink patch. I made it a habit to install any unix system file with Cydia rather than installer as Cydia provide a direct port from Debian (same as OS X) and with updated version.

Other apps, installer is still the best.

Added on March 15, 2008, 1:27 pmOso found a way to backup the installer source so no need to enter everysource everytime restore. Beat the hassle to put every source back in place.

Ok ... i don't use bosstools as installing Cydia would automatically move Ringtones, Wallpaper, Fonts and Apps to /private/var/ by default. Thats why i love cydia so much .. no need to install other apps for this. 100% reversible? Can't say so coz I haven't tried but one ADVICE ... if u decide to upgrade back to BL4.6, after the upgrade the baseband would be empty so restore back to 1.1.2. NEVER restore to 1.1.1 and below or u'll get BL3.8, yeah its not a TYPO ... BL3.8. So be extra carefull.

I said I use ZiPhone only to jailbreak and activate using the advance pref. Not DO IT ALL button (which i never trust).

To the faint of heart ... don't downgrade the BL if u can't handle the pressure if something goes wrong.

BTW who wan't consultation can YM me. Free ofcourse no charge (maybe teh tarik if we ever meet hehehehe ... gonna be bloated with teh tarik after this)

Added on March 15, 2008, 1:58 pmNope ... once u RESTORE, the filesystem will be formated and install new. So any changes made prior to RESTORE are lost. Means u have to do bosstools again.

Can ... use eZiPhone. Go to here eZiPhone. It uses ZiPhone codes but don't downgrade the BL.

what r u reffering to 2.6b? eZiPhone only have ver1.1.

Added on March 15, 2008, 2:59 pmok ... found a problem. I manually restore the contacts and now the customise ringtone can't be use for contacts. If set as default it can. Hmmm ... anyone (not yet explore the ringtone stuff). I always use stock ones.

Hmmm .... then mine is different la. It's in /private/var/ instead of /private/var/mobile. Only Library are in /private/var/mobile. I haven't installed other apps yet so let see how it goes.

Yup ... u can use terminal or PuTTy for this. But if in installer u must use the "SU" command. If not the root password won't change. In terminal just type "su" and password is alpine. The type "passwd" and change to anything u want. If in PuTTy no need to use "SU" since it already log in as root.

Solve the custome ringtone with contacts. Its just one contact having this problem. It reset to default everytime i reboot. So just need to create that one back.

This is where people would make the mistakes when using ZiPhone. It won't downgrade the bootloader IF u choose the Advance Pref. Since most users are noob ... the only thing they see is "Do It All" button. So shinny and pretty ... clicking on it without knowing what happen. Most noob oso won't go to the advance pref since it says ... Advance. If u have the chance ... look into ZiPhone codes and the GUI. The dreaded "Do It All" uses the ziphone -Z option. Thats why i recommend to use eZiPhone. But it up to others preferences on which tools to use. Its ur phone and ur responsible for it.

Mana ada Apple Store in KL. BTW u can't buy the ipod power adapter as they r not the same. Rupa sama tapi tak serupa. If u use it ... u'll end up with a dead phone.

MoNnY ... I think ur right about the adapter. Never really look at the bottom before. Maybe the one i heard is about 3rd party ipod charger like u said. Never had the chance to own an ipod before ... hehehehehe.

Why would I screw u up?

U download iPlus 2.0 or 2.0b?

Payload is a collection of program to install automatically when iPlus do the jailbreak and activate so u no need to install those apps listed in the payload. If u want to use Cydia's Telesphoreo rather than BSD then u have to delete the original payload.zip or international payload.zip and replace the cydia payload. Rename it to payload.zip. Try to google for it ... i oso donno where to get.

Giving up on installing customize already. Really get on my nerves.

Owh ... I've been trying to get customize to work for more that 3 hours now but to no avail. I've tried almost everything but still the same. Maybe other people had some luck and manage to run it.

Looks like the developer for customize just abandon the SDK to write his app. He says the SDK is just full of hype and now he's working on Customize 2.0 using the old toolchains. Can't wait for this ... wasted my time to get Customize to work.

Yup ... only got a sore butt from trying to get it working for hours. So lesson learnt. The hard way.

Haven't really test drive 1.1.4 yet since i'm obsess to get customize to work. But all and all ... quite ok. Not impress with the jiggly icons ... yet, haven't play with webclips yet and donno why locate function in gmaps not working. Other than that ... just ok.
