Seat no. is given during check-in time. Normally, they put the people under the same booking sitting next to each other. If you check-in late and the flight is quite full, then there's no guarantee for seats next to each other lor. QUOTE(michaelyii1988 @ Jun 20 2009, 11:05 AM) guys..i wanna ask something..now airasia got given seats to everyone edi rite,i mean they decide the seat for u if u din choose the Pick-A-Seat during online booking. what i wanna ask is they giv u the seat No during online booking or during check-in time?if i check in with my fren,we sit next to each other?

Web check-in and print your boarding pass. If you have baggage for check in, at the airport go to the Check-in Baggage Drop/Travel Document Check Counter, eg at LCCT, counter 62-64. Show your printed boarding pass and check in you baggage. These counters closes 1 hour before departure time. Anyway, if you do not have check-in baggage, still need to go to the counter. For international flight, need to verify the passport and the boarding pass is stamped. Now for dosmetic flight, also require an "Air Asia" ink stamp. If not web check-in, may also use the kiosk check in at the airport. The advantage? -Need not queue at the check in counter QUOTE(tishaban @ Jul 2 2009, 09:39 PM) I've searched the forum but no clear answer. Does the web checkin actually speed up your checkin process? I typically fly with checkin luggage and I sometimes pay to choose my seat. What advantage would the web check-in be in these cases?

For international fllights, regardless of which airlines/airports, the 100ml's rule appy to the size of the container/bottle. You can't get thru the custom check if you have a 500ml mineral water bottle with a gulp of water in it! If you have a half bottle of 250ml shampoo bottle, also can not la...
For Air Asia inflight, I normally buy the Lipton Green Tea, @ RM5/500ml bottle. No problem asking for additional cup of ice if you want to share with friends. So, it's not that expensive la..

QUOTE(clivengu @ Aug 31 2009, 03:53 AM) oh. really? cause i need to ask my friend to bring it back for me.. so hope it wont cause her problem getting stopped by the guard. Ok to hand carry for domestic flight. But better have the receipt ready, may get stop by custom and query your friend why is it duty free, and may thought that she bought at airport duty free shop. Then the receipt is the proof that you bought in Langkawi duty free... Even if you want to put in hand carry(ie may not be seen by the custom), also get the receipt ready.

The worst attitude I kena from AA re seating arrangement is:
I pre booked the RM5, seat no 6C (one row after the hot seat). Then there are two big man seated at 6A and 6B, and the first 5 rows completely vacant. So, "naturally" I mah moved to the seat in front of me lor..
One "PR not so good" air stewardess "shoo" me away. Insisting that "you can not sit here, you need to pay RM25 to sit here!"
Hey, I asked her back if this flight can take a total 180 pax and if all tickets are sold out without anyone paying for the seat, then the RM25 seats can be all left vacant ah? I told her I've also witnessed passenger who did not pre book but got assigned to the "hot seat" by the computer system.
She just insisted and stressed that need to pay for those seats, making the issue become so MONEY orientated.
It was later then I found out that on the previous flight, some one moved over to the "hot seat" and one unhappy passenger who has paid for his "hot seat" questioned the air stewardess why allowed the other person to sit there..
So, nowadays I don't bother to pre book any seats liao.
I was told by the check in staff that NORMALLY they ("they" - don't know meaning who or what?) will allocate the same group of people under the same itinerary to be seated near each other. So far, (touchwood), it's true for me and my family travelling together...
@stimix maybe you really kena coz you asked

Yup, it has been mentioned a few posts back.
However, I baru realised now that the 15kg is for accummulated pieces of check in baggage, has since replaced the baggage handling fee which limit to only one piece of 15kg max.
Took away the admin fee, and increased the baggage fee, the pre ordered meals also more expensive liao..
I wonder what's next to increase or to pay for? "pay to use the toilet on board"?? Or introducing cheaper without seat - "standing fare"??

Here's the questions to all:
How long are you prepared/willing to book/buy the tickets before the travelling date? 3 months? 6 months? Or >?
Is it worth to buy now and travel > 6 months later?

QUOTE(eXTaTine @ Oct 5 2009, 07:58 PM) Teach you a trick....MAS from SIN-KUL-MEL-KUL-SIN is SGD600...cheaper than KUL-MEL-KUL. So if you book flight starting from SIN its cheaper! If you don't want to board from SIN its no problem, you can always board at KUL! Have you tried on this trick of yours and board at KUL instead of SIN? For what I know, previously some one bought KUL-SIN-KUL but have to leave a day earlier to SIN, so she "no show" from KUL-SIN. Then to her horror, on her return date, she found out that the SIN-KUL was forfeited! So, SIN-KUL-MEL-KUL-SIN, if do not board from SIN, it might be considered as "no show" and straight away MAS computer system locked you out from the rest of the flights!

QUOTE(DeanKueh @ Oct 11 2009, 08:18 PM) hi guys recently my friend jst made a flight booking for me with air asia and appearently he spelled my name wrongly.the fare was booked with the 'economy promo' . thing is i checked around the website and it appears that 'economy promo' arent allowed to have name changes. but when they say name changes does it mean i'm not allowed to change to a different persons name or/and im not allowed to edit the mistake? thanks Not allowed to change to another traveller. Wrong spelling can change. Go to Air Asia office, show them your i/c and get it change, FOC. Don't bother to call, sales from 12 Oct - 18 Oct, line sure gets very busy wan. Worst if you are put on hold for a long time liao then they tell you to go to their office.

Might work out cheaper if buy a new ticket, than to pay to change date!
Those bought at very cheap fare, eg KUL-PEN @ RM9, well, be prepared to forfeit if can not make it lor... He he, which is also why nowadays I don't pre book and pay for the baggage fee and meals., if need later, can always book for under "manage bookings" when nearer to the departure date..
Added on November 3, 2009, 12:04 am***ADDITIONAL 5 RINGGIT***
Don't know since when, Air Asia has conveniently imposed a RM$5 Convenience Fee, when you make online payment through online booking!
It is being charged as per way, per person.
Guess what's next? Charge for checking in? Charge for printing boarding pass? Charge for using the plane's toilet? Charge for the toilet paper??.....

Wah, I'm impressed that Air Asia actually replied to calvin's mail...
Sorry to hear about calvin's wrong booking, since no refund for the flight itself, but still can get back the airport tax, right?

Caution to those who are booking the zero fare seats:
Those who need to connect flight, make sure got sufficient connecting time..
Be prepared to "throw away" those zero fare seats if you can not travel some 6 months later..
Good luck to all!
