QUOTE(bonedragon @ Mar 1 2008, 08:05 PM) yeah..do agree about the less prejudiced/racist part. It all goes back to the upbringing and environment... i prefer eng ed guy. Easier to communicate, more open minded, their mindset is different. |

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Mar 1 2008, 09:36 PM) chinese ed gals tend like to add words like 'oh' or 'hu hu hu' to their sentences on top of the typical 'la'. haha.have u ever interviewed any of them?? Usually those between 12 - 16 loves to do that.Over 20, no i guess? Not too sure though. But i do notice this as well. Came across those pictures posted.in addition to that, they love to pose in what we 'english' speaking blokes like to summarise as the top-5-picture-taking-poses. 1. index finger on one side of their cheek. 2. two open palms right below their chin, mimicking a blooming flower 3. the peace sign (of course) 4. open palm with the thumb and the rest of the four digits resembling a 90 degree angle (an L shape) 5. the peace sign adjacent to one side of their eyebrow of course, i do not intend to offend anyone here as i am speaking in general (from what i gather from my friends). to be fair, i would definitely say about 40 plus guys (plus minus) have a good weekend people! Added on March 1, 2008, 9:40 pmoh yeah, they love to use this '~~~~~' icon. for what reason? i have the slightest clue. And how sure r u the gals with all the cutie signs are chinese ed?? |

Mandarin speaking people:
community based - always move in groups, and always in the same groups. Speak in a subtle, around the bush manner. Have a weird fascination of English speakers' way of thinking. Thinks than English speakers 'action lebih'/LCLY, not as willing to brush up their English and mix with English speakers. English speaking people: very individualistic/independent - often seen as a loner by the Mandarin speakers. Vocal & direct - will say whatever they think/feel if needed. Open to suggestions. Have a weird frustration on Mandarin speakers' way of thinking. Generally more willing to learn Mandarin by trial & error from Mandarin speakers totally agree with this..chinese speaking people always labelled me as action..sighss..is not that im action or what, i speak no mandarin..what to do??? one thing i do noticed in ukm is that, 9 out of 10 chinese students speaks mandarin. and yeah, they do move in groups, and only among themselves..no other races.. i don't quite like such sight. |

QUOTE(King83 @ Jul 25 2008, 01:50 PM) Means u're a loner in campus ? no.i have my species too in the campus.so its okie. its funny. i used to have this bunch of friends 15 of us, all jumbled up; malays, indians and the chinese and we all communicated in english. the typical malays will think that those malay people in my group r "sombong", and etc. i also kena, the indians oso kena.My colleagues in office says i live in my own world... 'cos the only time i talk to them is regarding work... Not that i'm anti social, but they are a boring bunch. They don't play sports, they dun watch movies, their favourite pastime is sleeping. So there's nothing to talk about lol. but then as usual, like i care.im happy with myself. and no hard feelings, majority of the chinese ed ive known are boring bunch of people too. and yeah thats for sure, eng ed or to be more precise, sek. keb. r more outspoken and direct. like me. and not many people cant take it. unfortunately |
