just got mine today, got a question here, how do we turn the controller off?
*
QUOTE(amiranna @ Feb 24 2010, 12:23 PM)
No off function.. just leave it there or just unplugged it from your PC
*
Actually, u can off ur wireless controller using the same method on the Xbox 360 but this onli works for games which has GFW interface.... As for other games, just plug the battery pack out if wireless or re-plug ur USB if u r wired.....

QUOTE(valho @ Jun 18 2010, 07:48 PM)
hahha guess it's a common problem for anything wireless from Microsoft
*
Not really.... Dead receivers are some problems that users facing when updating their Win 7 OS.... I read from sumwhere from a forum long time ago whereby some users upgraded from XP to Win 7 and before update, it works fine but suddenly went dead after doing a Windows Update.....

Anyway, another alternative for ppl who use wireless controllers on Win 7 is to get a play and charge kit to use as a wired controller..... I've tested using the official Microsoft play and charge kit and it works onli on Win 7.... Older OS doesn't support this.....

Unlucky for u I guess.... Just try the play and charge kit out on Win 7.... I was surprised that it works...... Found it out accidentally when I wanna charge my controller.... laugh.gif

How it works?? Just use the battery provided and plug the cable to the wireless controller and play while charging.... This is why it is called play and charge.....

Actually, all GFW games support the 360 controller.... Other than GFW games, others might work depending on the game....

I noticed that the wired Xbox 360 controller hav some problems on Windows XP SP3.... Some can work and some can't..... Plus, the official driver pack refuse to install on that OS.... Forced users to use XBCD which some controllers cannot even work on that OS.... Works fine on Vista and Win7 but not in Windows XP SP3....

Anyone hav experienced this before??? Care to share???

it's been 8 months owning a 360 wireless controller.

and I've tried 3 types of batteries on it.

average daily gaming 1-2hours+-, here's how each battery lasts from full charge

- 2x oem Duracell battery (~3 weeks)
- 2x Panasonic Evolta (~8 weeks)
- 2x Eveready super heavy duty (~2 weeks)
- 2x Sanyo Eneloop (~8 weeks)

evolta 6x selling at RM12
eveready 12x selling at RM13

of course, rechargeable batteries are far more economical. but if you're still in the middle of saving up for the eneloop batteries+charging station, you better off buy those high powered batteries instead..
*
The other alternative is to buy Ikea batteries. RM10 a box and u can use quite a long time. biggrin.gif

forgot to mention that, it seems that the controller would turn off the vibration mechanism when the battery goes low

and throughout the 2 weeks time of using the eveready battery, half time of it the vibration do not work at all...

so I doubt IKEA battery would give any better gaming experience..
*
Well, I'm not saying that IKEA batteries give u a better experience. For RM10, u get a bunch of batteries only. If weak, just change it. I also used wireless controller before but most of the time, I have the cable on the controller due to my rechargeable battery pack's weak condition bcos it's very old already. So, every function still works.

Maybe it's time for u to invest into some rechargeable batteries then. thumbup.gif

walk into lowyat plaza, and there's tonnes of wireless 360 controller at Sri Comp, All IT, viewnet, etc..

but wired 360 controller is indeed hard to find..
*
Wired controller hard to find? Everytime I go to LYP, wired and wireless controllers are always available. They have a lot of stock actually.
