dental insurance... any such thing?

i just visit a dentist today, luckily it was just minor, because i did some canal thing last few years ago.

if it gets serious i asked, RM400 for crowning or worst RM1000 for surgery per tooth!

Not sure about dental insurance , but i do know some company cover dental cost for their employees

Your personal health plan insurance should cover it. Assuming you got a good one.

I'm personally looking for one soon too. After loosing two teeth at basketball recently and now looking at a RM2k+ bill to satisfy my vanity, I can't afford not to have insurance lol.

anything under the sun can be insured(literally ) for example pianist will insure their hand because they use hand for their career.

IIRC, if it's termed as "surgery" than you can claim via your medical card.

i hope 'tooth nerve surgery' is considered as 'surgery' ?

i own a prudential medicard + investment. i don't know if that's valid. any insurance guy here?

ahem, i hav heard someone used their prudential medical card for dental stuff , the bill was 4K+.

i just checked my prulink assurance policy book.

it does not qualify claims if it's not "Hospital"

so clinic & dental clinic is not qualified. further to that, one of the clause says any kind of oral & dental claims is not qualified UNLESS it is caused by accidents

so what kind of plan is available to get us through expensive dental fees?

u know, there are some dental specialist clinic in hospitals......

Perhaps the clause are specifically saying "Hospitals" as in with bed facilities 24/7 emergency & care, surgery, etc.

There's another clause saying dental & oral not included UNLESS your tooth break when involved in an accident involved other parts.

I think somebody working in insurance firm should be able to tell...

Insurance company : CANNOT!
AGent : May be can, may be not, depends on dentist...
Dentist : Perhaps we can work out something...

sounds like it's time for 'someone' to talk to 'Malaysian Dental Association'

Medical card does not valid on dental or oral treatment and cosmetic surgery.
Unless u needed the treatment because of accident.

Example: Lost 2 tooth due to road accident, then u can claim the bills by using medical card
