A: u might be able to save few hundred bugs...but chances of 3ROD is at High Risk due to most 2nd hand 360 is NOT Falcon but older chipset...i believe most seller are selling it because they are AWARE of the same problem as u do, and doing so to get a newer Falcon chipset for themselves...and bear in mind, most 2nd hand 360 are over warranty period as well...

B: I bought the Elite earlier this month...the heat is not so significant compared to previous chipset...and with 3 years warranty, even if the 3ROD and any other faulty issues strike, warranty claim is juz step-a-way...enjoying ur game without worryin bout ur console goes AWOL is "priceless"

C: since u're buyin a new 360 anyway, why go for older chips since Falcon is widely available nowadays? u know the older chipset is "more" vulnerable to 3ROD...if its $$$ difference between them, i don't think saving 100-200 or even 300 is enough to justified u to opt for the older chipset...

CONCLUSION, i suggest u to get any 360 with Falcon chipset!!! all the ORIGINAL 360 comes with 3 years warranty by MS ad...to be safe, visit trusted console retailer like GH at Cineleisure...

NOT all Halo Edition is modded ler bro, i think u're getting some misleading information...it's true that Halo Edition is almost 99% in Falcon chipset, but whether it's modded or not depends on the retail shop mod it anot...bear in mind NO 360 comes in "modded" OEMly...there are tons of Halo Edition unmodded out there which comes with 3 years warranty geh lor...

No point mentioning bout ur fren's 360 getting 3ROD anot now...it's YOU who are deciding whether which 360 to get...and we're NOT recommending 2nd hand older chipset b'coz of the risk of 3ROD...so far, Falcon chip is considered safe...so, based on what we know today...I'm recommending Falcon as well...whether it's Elite, Halo Edition, Premium or Arcade package it's up to u...

I guess u didn't even read the TS's 1st post before posting here...TS started the thread to ask opinion on which 360 he should get with option A, B or C...not asking "when" he should get it...u're way OOT and ridiculously suggested blinky to wait for the unconfirmed Jasper because he will get Gears of Wars 2...It's not about who's math is better...the point is, even if he get his 360 today...he will still be able to enjoy GOW2 when it's release here...nieway, judging by the way blinky posted i assume he will get a 360 very soon...glad that TS found answer for his purpose to start this thread -peaceout-

Of course i've read about articles that the rumoured Jasper might be release in August...and to wait for that means blinky have to sit out on the bench and have no game time for the next 6 months...I agreed with u that GOW2 is gonna be a big hit like expected bro mmxzero. Meanwhile, I will still stand firm on my personal suggestion to blinky (TS) to get a Falcon now from a reputable seller like GH and play with his 360 without worries for 3 years during warranty period at least...and it seems that 99% of those who posted here are having the same thought...

Your statement about the design of Falcon is "stupid" is too harsh and subjective ler bro...Microsoft spent lots of time and expenses with research to come up with a better chipset for obvious reason...and will keep doing it to improve further in every department...i choose to keep faith with Microsoft on this department...
