QUOTE 'Ghostbusters' Reboot Lands 'The Heat' Writer Katie Dippold (Exclusive) Katie Dippold, who wrote Paul Feig’s female buddy action comedy The Heat, is reteaming with the director for Sony's new Ghostbusters movie. Dippold has been tapped to co-write the script with Feig for the long-gestating third installment. After years of development as a sequel with the intent to bring back the original team (Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis), script setbacks eventually shifted the focus to a new generation (think Jonah Hill). Ramis died earlier this year and then original director Ivan Reitman left in March. Feig came on board to rejuvenate the project in August, with a twist: the Ghostbusters would now be a female team, and the project would launch a new series instead of being connected to the earlier movies. I have nothing against women or women-comedy movies. But this reboot gives me the feel like the new Fantastic Four reboot. |

![]() Sauce: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/nai.../news/?a=112410 QUOTE GHOSTBUSTERS Spinoff Starring Channing Tatum & Chris Pratt Is Being Developed Director Paul Feig is currently working on his female-led Ghostbusters reboot for Sony, which we know from recent leaked emails could feature Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, Lizzy Caplan or even Ryan Gosling. Though, that might not be the only Ghostbusters film in Sony's pipeline. According to emails that The Daily Beast has viewed, Channing Tatum ("21 Jump Street") pitched Sony executives on a Ghostbusters film that would be a spinoff of Feig's. Tatum wants to star in it, alongside his 10 Years co-star, Chris Pratt ("Jurassic World"). QUOTE An email from Tatum to Pascal concerning Ghostbusters dated August 21 says, “Let us show the world The DarkSide and let us fight it with all the glory and epicness of a HUGE BATMAN BEGINS MOVIE. I know we can make this a huge franchise. Fun adventure craziness. COME OONNNN!!!” “So… in a curious turn of events - the Russos and Channing want to develop Ghostbusters as a vehicle for Channing and Chris Pratt to do together,” wrote Minghella. “The Russos, Channing and Reid have been brainstorming ideas and want to create a whole new mythology that would support multiple movies (the way that Nolan reinvented Batman). To be clear - the Russos want to produce (not direct) and while Channing and Chris are looking for a movie to do together they haven't mentioned this to him yet because they weren't sure how we'd react. They want to make it simultaneously super scary while also super funny. They love the idea that they are mortal heroes who are believers in the paranormal and the only people who can defend mankind from a paranormal threat. I know we're mid negotiations with Paul [Feig]. I'm not sure whether we'd ever develop two different versions simultaneously. Joe Russo is open to the idea that both movies could be developed in partnership so they compliment one another within the same Ghostbusters universe. Apparently the Russos are very close to Paul and Joe suggested Paul could be attached to direct both. Personally I think it's possible for the female version to co-exist with this other version so maybe they're not mutually exclusive.” |

Wow, after getting one of most dislikes trailer on youtube, people have been bashing this movie left and right and doubt it will do good on cinema but manage to score 78% on RT at the moment?
But, RT score haven't been that reliable lately so I reserve my judgement on this movie. But this somehow getting me excited and expect something. |

Just watched the screening and I thought it was just ok. It wasn't even half as funny as Spy which I thought was hilarious and from the same director. And that has got to be one of the most stupid villain. Bringing out the ghosts because he was bullied as a kid.
But I thought the 4 Ghostbusters with different personalities were pretty enjoyable to watch. There were also different type of weapons used which was cool to watch. And Chris Hemsworth got a lot more screen time that I thought and was also really funny. The original Ghostbusters who are still alive made cameos and also watch out for another special cameo when the credits roll. 3/5 |

After watching the premier last night, i would say for a person who loves the original Ghostbuster movie, this is a pretty bad remake.
But if I don't compare it to the original, I would say it is quite an enjoyable and funny show but nothing more. |
