Regarding dawn of war series I like Dark crusade the best & each races have a different personality & gameplay :

Space marine : Its the one of the easier faction to jump into since it requires little micro-management. It has tremenduous firepower in its marines
                      but lack powerful melee unit.

Chaos Space marine : Its almost similar but it has heavier weaponry but lack the ranged unit. I like their leader (daemon prince) which can easily
                                becomes the most powerful boss

Eldars : They rely on speed & stealth so only works for very "patient gamer". IF you play turtle or all out aggresive definitely "hangus". Because
each unit have a special task, like anti-air, heavy infantry therefore you must play them together to make it "tick". Definitely one of the
            hardest to manage (many micro-managing)

Imperial Guards : I don't know about other but i hate their "look" maybe because they represent earth soldiers the most or it apparent weak units.
Gamers tend to avoid using this faction because I.G will only becomes powerful in the later stage (their tanks). Their infantry
was near to useless compared to space marines.

Orkz : This the most powerful faction (check the winning status of orkz user). They required to build more waagh to support their forces & believe me
if you have the resources you can  push their size to fill out entire screen. Their prime weapon is their superb infantry + their boss (the
          craziest I ever seen)
Tau : They divided everything into two. peace or war faction. Melee or ranged unit caste....... They have the most powerful ranged units in the game
& one of the best in Turte tactic. However they also have melee unit (kroot) to support but if you never use them together chances are
you will lose very fast. No wonder few play this faction at multiplayer.

My favourite & easiest faction, you guess it the Necrons :
I hate their tanks but their infantry units are so powerful & very hard to kill (considered some are free). Basically necrons are very suitable for those
players that like to strike quickly as Necrons are already very powerful in early stage & doesn't need requisition point. I have this crazy tactic everytime i play necrons. Use their boss (equipped with the ressurection skill), sent all your troops attack your enemy base w/o the boss.
It would be better if all of them die. Quickly rebuilt large 2nd army & attack again with the boss. Put him in the center in the base and press ressurect
Now you have doubled the army with 0 cost. I won 8 / 10 games this way using the necrons.

However few people hate this faction by finding it to easy to play.

I exclude soulstorm bcos they are not developed by Relic but Ironlore (now bankrupt). Try imagine obsidian taking over their over Bioware over games like KOTOR & neverwinter nights series.

oh I already stop playing multiplayer this year (for dark crusade lo) Still got other games like (world in conflict, COD 4). Actually i am very dissapointed with soulstorm (apologise to hardcore fans here) but it seems gamespot, gamespy share my views here.
Luckily Relic back at the helm rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif . Can't wait for DOW2 (it combines COH with DOW)

Regarding multiplayer the faction i call easy was my opinion only, It doesnt't mean easy you will use it right (like necron shocking.gif )
The most used faction : space marines
Most winning faction : orkz
Loser : you guess it the 2 new comer (Tau & necron)

I actually like using orkz but they need a heavy attention & quite noisy too (each soldier screams).
Normally i venture into necrons for the "extra" fun only (like the boss experiment)

Actually what distinguish DOW from other RTS is no "minerals" gathering.
So you will see a plenty of action (rushing for exquisition point except necrons which is why i call it easy to manage rolleyes.gif )
I actually choose faction according to opponents, if it was a friend easy lo.
If facing unknown player, try sticking with a necron first (if you are a beginner)
For more advance player (space marines, chaos, maybe orkz)
Expert (eldar maybe, actually very few used this as well).

I heard rumors that Tyrannid may be making an appearance, did you guys watched the 2nd official trailer (I just put maybe brows.gif brows.gif )

Seriously dude come play with us, may be we can learn a thing or two from each other. We have been fighting ourselves for like 3 years now may be we went too noob. Even if u wan to play DC I am sure a lot of ppl will be happy to play with you, provided it is the lastest patch.

SS is actually not bad, a side from the bugs issues.

Lomg time never play my skill surely got "rusted" already. Meet any gamer sure "fried" if not "ka-boom".
Last time still college , now start working already (all my post is at either at night or at weekends).
Don't worry after DOW2 coming out I sure will join again (i bet the gameplay will be revolutionised) by the developer statement.
So far only 3 faction (space marines, orkz, eldar rclxub.gif rclxub.gif ).
Take it from me if the dark eldars & sisters of something not removed I will eat my hat (possibly Tau too)

Did you guys actually play the the board game ?

we would be very happy if u can join us.. really.. we need more players

dont worry, we are not hardcore players who train every night and day for the sake of winning and egos.

we are bunch of working adult who want to have some enjoyment after the boring working days

Yalah, it is weekly team game like 3v3 or 4v4 if we got lucky enuf ppl come.
Don't worry of being rusty, if u played multi player before a few rounds down the road sure back in business. Why not treat this as warm up for DOW2?

We currently lack uber necron too, may be you can fill in the rank, current they are being slap left and right, could be no one here knows how to handle them.

Oops my mistake I suppose to explain it in ratio : (in thousand)
1) Orks win (510) loss (380) = 57% winner
2) space marines win (1574) loss (1249) = 56% biggest gamer (fans)
3) chaos win (810) loss (644) = 56%
4) eldar win (628) loss (518) = 55%
5) Imperial guard (610) loss (533) = 53% one of the least used team
6) Necrons win (796) loss (692) = 53%
7) Tau win (925) loss (844) = 52% 2nd famous faction but the biggest loser (hard to manage)

I heard those stats includes all the kustom games so might not accurately tells how an army performs. But who knows?
But the main thing is we found necon very hard to use leh

DoW:SS does lack the minimum polish other DoW has achieve, if what Relic said about letting DoW:SS owners get into DoW2 beta, then still ok.

Can the PC using the same CD key play with each other ?? If yes, I just suggest we get unlock those races with pirated cdkey only, no point to risk our own ori keys.

Rock Cafe is still not recommended due to bad mouse(standard optical, low dpi duh!), speaker(built-in to LCD monitor, some how not loud enough), overall laggy(gfx, ram or network?).

CC dude said some newer coms already have 2 GB rams, currently laggy ones(which we tested it out) will be upgraded soon.

SS is probably the worst expansion i ever played in my life. The air units shouldn't be in the game.DE and SoB are actually pretty good but the aircrafts spoil the entire game.

I used to love this game but after SS,not anymore.

Dude, actually the air crafts, however shitty their animation may be, added some real extra dimension to the multi player aspect. In the hand of a capable commander they can whack havoc with it, but I gotta agree the animation is under par though.

As for you hating the expansion, well, since you dont play multi player, what is the difference anyway?

But still really, whats the point of not liking or liking an expansion when all you do is Mod? By the way if you are a serious mod player you should appreciate SS! For SS doubtlessly provide you with extra units, map tile options, FX and what not.

Now, what sometimes bothers me is the fact that you made all your statement from a single player modders point of view, for eg you said:

QUOTE

Erm, how is that point valid? Because now computer can send air craft by passing all your turrets and kill your base while you play your mod? I have lost online matches before solely because of the enemy knows how to play aircraft. While I distaste the aircraft "hovering" style and its jerky animation like a sick grot, I have to give it to them for putting air craft in the game which undeniably added extra dimension for fighting in Big maps and maps with large unaccessible area.

So what is your argument on your statement then?
