Hey guys... Just wanted to ask... Would my ISP affect my NAT type? I've done everything possible to configure my router for the PS3. I'm using a Dlink DI-524 (which a few people have said works fine). I've assigned an IP address to my PS3 and DMZed it, port forwarded the relevant ports, changed both my router and PS3's MTU to 1364, every possible thing I could think of, and my NAT type stubbornly remains at type 3. What ISPs are you guys using (if you've got NAT 2)? I'm using Macrolynx...

Well I just plugged my modem directly into my PS3 via wired connection, so since there's no router, I should be getting NAT type 1. BUT it's still NAT type 3. I doubt the helpline for my ISP will understand what the heck I'm talking about though... Malaysian helplines are like that. What should I do? Switching ISPs is not an easy task... don't think it's an option either. Parents wouldn't wanna change the line and billing setup just for my gaming sake. If it was my router that was the problem at least I could just go out and buy another router or something... *Sighhh* So to those who are able to get NAT type 2... are you guys using Streamyx basic? Added on March 13, 2008, 11:17 pmI sent off a rather crisp e-mail off to my ISP, asking for a solution to this problem. Still no reply yet. One of the reasons I bought a PS3 was for online play.
