well, good for TARC then wink.gif.

i will need to wait for the official news published on the news, coz i cant watch 8TV. i'll reply after i've got some reference on it. but in my opinion, TS' adv dip should be recognized bcoz the recognition is a process quite similar to accreditation, where group of experts and authorities assess the school's abilities and the quality of its graduates.

if it just got accredited, it means it just assessed the last graduated batch, which is TS' batch. TS and all batches below him should get automatic recognition. i cant say for sure for previous batches.

cks2k2,

no, malaysia still do not recognize any top-up degrees.

to be fair, u should ask TARC how many times they've applied for accreditation. the diploma got accredited fairly quickly. UTAR didnt have a problem in accreditation at all. heck, other colleges didnt have much of a problem getting accreditation at all!

alot of people make fuss about why TARC didnt get accreditation for its adv diploma. they should ask:

i. how many other adv diploma courses in malaysia that is accredited?

ii. how many times did the accreditation committee came to assess the adv dip of the school in those 39 years?

i'll give u a hint. it's the advanced diploma certificate that's the issue, NOT who owns TARC.

u cannot use the argument on ACCA bcoz ACCA is a professional qualification. regardless if u have any other qualifications, holding an ACCA is a license to practice. this is the reason why ACCA is recognized as an honours degree. all other professional qualifying degrees have the same recognition from JPA.

advanced diploma, on the other hand is recognized as equivalent to a general 1st degree. it does not carry any professional qualifications. JPA recognizes it as a degree so that u can get higher pay, not bcoz u could perform as a full qualified professional with the same degree.

QUOTE(TeRz @ Mar 31 2008, 03:31 PM)

wat job u r?
advanced diploma salary 100% lower than degree d?
if A ppl got degree and ACCA then B ppl got adv. diploma and ACCA,izit they are in the same level once they hv ACCA?

in that case, both A and B will get the same salary because of ACCA. as i've mentioned earlier, ACCA is a professional qualification and it is an international standard. so once u pass ACCA, it doesnt really matter which path u took, bcoz all the industry cares is ACCA and nothing below it. so if guy A took the fastest route straight after SPM and acquired his ACCA by 21, while guy B took some other course, changed into something else, and finally decided to take ACCA by 35, both of them will get the exact same salary, assuming they both start at the same time and had zero experience.
