Hey guys, I discovered something about my guitar, I am not sure if this is normal.
When I mentioned at full gain I could still hear noise even with striking one string and muting it nicely with the same finger unless I use a dampener.
I decided to check out other issues.
It seems, at that particular fret, fret 9 at G string which I conducted this experiment, it causes my E and A open strings to rattle too.
I did not strike the E and A lower strings, I don't understand why they're vibrating as well (very lightly but enough to be picked up by the amp), so when I immediately touched those strings as well after I strike the G string at fret 9, no more noise.
So basically, i don't think it's my sweeping technique, but I don't understand why striking at that fret causes other strings to ring, whereas at other frets, it doesn't or not as bad.
Has this got something to do with harmonics or what ?
Either that or is this specific to my guitar only ?
FYI, I've locked down and blocked the bridge.
I suspect that the vibrations from that location hits the fretboard and body, then it is channelled back and affected other strings as well.
Is it the wood issue also ?
Cheating with a string dampener., To cheat or not to cheat?
