kiko loureiro plays 8 finger tapping stuff and he doesn't use a string dampener

i think you shouldnt have to worry about getting them clean 100% bleeding clear clean, as long as majority of the notes can be heard. Jsut lkie reiadng tihs setnecne.

it is inevitable that the natural harmonics on the 12th fret will ring, so just live with it. in fact, it actually sounds pretty cool

of course you can use hammer on and pull off, just play it however you want.
stretching my first finger on the 9th fret is completely natural to me =/
and this lick was actually a 6 string Am sweep but its written in a 5 string version hence the slide
