no more competition in HD
isnt this a bad news for us?

Huh? It's good for us consumers. Now all the studios will produce only on Blu-ray and this will certainly lower their production cost and ultimately, the discs themselves. Also, more hardware manufacturers will not have a headache of which way they should go, and now that they are certain, they can ramp up production knowing that consumers that want HD will go for Blu-ray no matter what.

This solve a hell lot of headache than create them...and the headache would only be: will I want a 40GB PS3 or a 80GB PS3? Or wait for future SKUs? Sony wins this time...their strategy finally pays off. Ken Kutaragi should be really proud.

In due time...in due time... http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=10749

Also, note that since PS3 helped them win this war, Sony is going to have a jolly good time selling PS3 since it is the cheapest Blu-ray player. So...thing's going good for Sony this year?

And in another news, Sony gives Toshiba something in return for its trouble: http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=10826

No wonder Sony didn't comment on HD-DVD's defeat...
