Toshiba have officially confirmed the leaked reports that it was ending production of HD-DVD and ending the format war. What's interesting is the title of the press release, it's worded as such that they are still committed to Hi Def in general which is of course, a good thing. By the end of March however, HD-DVD will no longer exist in the retail market, both in movie players and PC hardware. http://www.toshiba.co.jp/about/press/2008_02/pr1903.htm

one of the big guys in the HD-war finally bow out
should have seen it coming
they have their chance and blew it
maybe they were playing the safe card, the film producer waits the market for the hardware supports while the hardwares waits for the film supports
well just have to move on maybe toshiba have something up their sleeves perhaps?

Right now is less than half d price. Only those imported DVD still sell at those prices. HD-DVD or BD... as long as its affordable, i dun mind whicheva format win.
