The long awaited fighting game is being shown now! And no, its not Street Fighter 4. hehe.

KOF XII has been kept under secret for a very long time now. And we have this little bit video being shown in AOU on 15th February 2008. You guys could watch the trailer in youtube now.

The graphics has been upgraded, and the game now runs on Taito TypeX2 board. You get your old 2d fighting game, but with improved sprites and a 3d background. Characters also seem to occupy the screen much more, and it feels much like a wide screen game (Perhaps the leap to the Next Gen of gaming).

Your usual Kyo is showing off his flame alongside Ash Crimson. Other fighters such as Terry, Athena and Benimaru were on show. But there were some puzzling moments to think of. Such as the abscence of Iori.

But the best part, God Willing, it will be out in 2008.

I hope the new machine would come to our shores soon. Nowadays, alot of arcade centres use the old machines. No longer can see any new machines except in KL, even that is a rare sight. sad.gif

same old engine, same old sprite, what are you guys gettin excited about and the backgrounds are not 3D

A leap in towards the current gen hardware doesn't necessarily mean it has to be 3d. I say SNK delivered on this newly redone sprites and besides that KoF isn't mean't for 3d style. Why change something that isn't even broken. Furthermore, it's being done on a newly upgraded engine which is being shown as Taito Type X 2.

Did anyone notice that KOF XII seems to go on a widescreen style? Not only the characters are bigger (Much closer to the screen), the movements feel more fluid.

Maybe thru videos the moves doesn't look so hard hitting. But I believe that is something for my eyes to see.

read at the-magicbox.com. The background is 3D, but 2D fighting is still intact. Even Street fighter IV dare not go completely 3D.

movements are more fluid cuz theres more sprites this time though the panning in and out of characters seems to have existed before which is what what i read from some people.

I dun mind not having new moves or rotations, but I'd like to see new animations! hehe. Maybe more hit boxes and more facial animations?

i think minimize abit(50%) of the effects like kyo's SS which is too huge n covered almost whole body kinda ugly...

and d speed of the movement obviously slower

maintaining the combo is a must for 2D games, not like SF2(i.e. jz use ken/ryu or others with similar styles, always hadouken and wait opponent to jump over then shoruken...win, but SF3 was GREAT! with added combos)

overall KOFXII will be nice...

Don't worry, it'll probably be tweaked. And I also think the same way as u do about the moves. I believe beta testing will be the key to a very great game.

Cannot fix Mai. She must be as she is. Especially in KOF XII. Hohoho.

Btw, is anybody concerned if Iori would be in this tournament this time? I mean, according to the last ending, Ash stole his powers already. And what's left, is Kyo.

KOF XII new screenies

Guard Attack is new? i tot they had that a long time ago? I like Attack Offset, its similar to Parry for SF3 but the input would be a move. Much like Rival Schools. Wall Stuck State sounds fun, when somehow the Striker system makes a return. I wonder what happened to the other systems introduced in XI. Hopefully they will still remain.

Check out the effects! Damn cun weyh.

I like this pic most. Normally, Kyo would get hit from the Power Geyser when doing Orochinagi, but not anymore! haha.

Seriously can't wait for this to come to Malaysia. Its gonna be a blast... smile.gif

Wow, we've got new screens. Not to mention the Beta Testing will begin at Japan on mid April.

This is looking to be much more sweeter. Check out Terrys' arm. Its big!
