My sister bought a Sony MS Pro Duo (High Speed) 2GB from Thudermatch (Lowyat) at MYR80. She show it to me and I wonder it is genuine even though she said the sale staff confirmed that it is original. I inserted the memory into my PSP, and the MagicGate is shown as unknown. Besides, looking at the packing, the plastic packing is not fully sealed and in fact it is soled at selected points at the edge of the plastic cover. I did a test on the speed of the memory. It can only reach about 2MB/sec on the transfer rate. I went to Sony Centre to do a further verification. The staff there verified that it is fake and on top of that they show me that the Sony sticker is fake by using a special gadget. I went to Thudermatch and seek for an explanation. The staff there wow...... surprisingly they challenged that they told my sister that it is fake before she bought. However, they said I can exchange for other product if I don't want the memory. I was so angry, and I asked for refund. They said no. Then, the more angry I was. I said I will report this to the government consumer department as they are giving the impression of selling fake product is legal. Then only the issue escalated to the manager and they agreed to refund. I did a few search in internet and happen to see that Thurdermatch is selling fake memory and cheating people. You can refer to following thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/433462. Hope to highlight this to everyone.

well i think the price automatically will tell u its a fake card. no 2gb sony ms is sold less than rm100 la....so i guess its the fault of the buyer as well partially...everyone know that sales person will use all kind of method to sell their stuff as they get commision out of it. so as the buyer, you should know something about the item you want to buy before you buy it. be aware next time.

Just make the report and don't wait for them to settle. The faster, the better. That will teach those bastards a lesson.

As much as i agree with you that there is a 'small' part of fault within the buyer, BUT she ASKED if it's original and the sales stuff say YES. Well pardon me not everyone knows how to tell between a fake an the original. Agree? Wow......now I just know that not only my sister got cheated, but out there, there are lots of people also having the same experience with Thundermatch.
Anyway, I will get this issue reported. At least for the reference of relevant authority. The Thundermatch shop looks big......but now I just worry that some of the products inside are questionable......
