QUOTE(shich80 @ Aug 28 2008, 12:01 PM) Actually you can refer to your user guide, think there do guide u how to set it to default. However, I set my front to large and both center and rear to small as what it is then run the YPAO. Sound was OK but I haven't set it again after bought my Sub, will set it again when free so that the setting consider the Sub as well. I used all default setting since I'm not too expert in all those setting but sound was OK for me Added on August 28, 2008, 12:08 pmOh OK djdyks, if u didn't mention I also didn't notice about those small part at the rear panel purposely for ground connection. I'll check it out but how do you connect from the small part at the rear panel of your AVR to the ground? Izit just connect a wire from there to another 3-pin electrical appliance? Or can I just connect the wire to the TV rack which was make from metal? Thanks ya Your rack made of metal, alrite ... but is it touching the ground DIRECTLY and without any bushing or rubbers? If it is, then ok ... Any metal body part of the DVD player can be routed to connect to other electrical appliances which comes with 3-pin plug ... Or guys can try wearing slippers or anything to avoid contact with the ground and try 'touching' your elec. app. and test whether it works ? It'll prove whether my idea works NO WARRANTY for my suggestion ... take your own risk

If u actually see the solder-ed part internally, u'll know whether its difficult to do or not ... I used to do soldering in my younger days ...

QUOTE(pSykhotic @ Sep 21 2008, 11:27 PM) Hey all, got a few noob questions! 1. Anyone know where to get a good deal on 663s? The cheapest I can get was 1990 @ Legend. 2. I am starting with a pair of floorstanders. My choice is down to PSB T1 and Wharfys 8.4. Auditioned both, but not with the yammy avr. Both sound about the same, but they are in different environments:( Any advice? 3. From my brother, I manage to salvage 3 sub speakers (from a set of Bose Lifestyle 15, pretty old). Can I re-use them temporarily for my centre and rear surrounds with the 663? Many thanks! 1) Somebody just posted he managed to get it at around $1800 ++ 2) Its personal taste, which one color match ur home decor or u like which style ? 3) I dun see why not ... QUOTE(HornyAngMoh @ Sep 25 2008, 06:48 PM) Without cooling fan Onkyo is real hot ( can cook nuts!!! ) but once u install two cooling fan it is warm only. I install two 12mm cpu casing fan on it, so far so good! Powered using the switched outlet at the back. Will it give interference sound to the sound quality ?

QUOTE(ah_chak @ Mar 23 2009, 10:01 PM) Hey dudes.. just got my RX-V663, pairing it with Monitor Audio BR2 Fronts and Mordaunt Short 905i Centre.. as for the sub, i'm currently using the Monitor Audio BW10, i have a unit of RS12 with me currently, now having a headache between both of the subs.. the BW10 is just nice for my room.. but when the bass digs deeper, the wind noise is quite audible as it's a ported sub. The RS12 is a sealed sub and the bass is just wonderful.. the problem is.. does the price justifies the difference ? it's about 80% more from the BW10 Your 663's power capable enuf for your BR2 & MS centre ? How bout surround ?
