i realized starting from firefox 1.5, when opening alot tabs obviously the memory increases but when later you close the tabs and just leave one tab open, the memory doesnt decrease.

Bcos I surf multiple pages at one time Firefox always runs around 90mb-120mb.

This is not an issue in Safari or Opera for Windows.

manutddotcom, that because FF got feature that can reload ur closed tab. means that FF store ur closed tab in memory. no wonder ur ram usage not decrease after close the tab.restart ur FF will solve that

But Firefox should have just save the link instead of caching the pages.
Recently closed tab is not some function we often use.

You need to be in the customize toolbar window in order to move it. Simply drag and drop the home into your desired place on the toolbar.

Haizz....I hope Firefox won't end up like IE. They need to understand that too much memory will lead to lagg. Yea, I understand Americans have 2gb more on their pcs, but they should also know about us here in the Asia.

Apparently you can disable it but not through the option menu.

In the browser address bar, type about:config then enter

search for browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers
change the value to 0.

Read here

Also to limit the amount of ram usage by firefox, read here.

I thought the tech enthusiast is already going for at least 4GB? I'm seeing Malaysia children's computer having 2GB RAM.
