i got mine today from my usual supplier.

Bought the game Operation Creature Feature from US PSN store today and encountered loading screen hang problem. Checked online and found out the game is region locked! It doesn't play on Asian PS3 if you bought the game from US PSN store.

WARNING: Make sure to check your PS3 region and PSN store region before purchasing any PSN Eye games. I've just dump USD 5 into the drain.

It depends, some do have "region lock". E.g. Operation Creature Feature from US PSN not playable on Asia PS3. Some are tied to the region of the game (e.g. COD4 Map Pack download from US PSN only playable with COD4 region 1)

is it worth it? thinking of buying it

Usage of PS Eye:

1) PSN Downloadable PS Eye game
2) Limited PS3 game supporting PS Eye in some form (Eyes of Judgement, Burnout Paradise etc)
3) Video chat (it comes with own built-in mic)

So you can evaluate whether it's worth it or not

oh and if i check at play-asia, they have 3 diff types; compatible with US, Asia or Japan PS3s with different prices for each.

i thought the plug and play eyes could work for any region consoles? or am i wrong?

Me too. Will probably wait and see. I have one more trophy before I get my platinum for Burnout Paradise and that's the mugshot trophy. I'm hoping one of my friends buy it and I snatch it off them for a day

nah it doesn't need the eye as a requirement. it's just for you to take pictures and make it into stickers, that's all.

i wanted to get creative, and i thought they still had the ability to load from HDDs, but i guess copyright infringement issues were to be avoided, so only can make stickers out of images from psEye.

just found out bernard's selling it at RM 180, but he's out of stock now.

if i were to order from play-asia, the cheapest option is to go for free airmail. being late is ok by me, but is it safe? i remembered my splinter cell arrived almost 3 weeks by airmail, but safe and sound. dunno if i should get an accessory via airmail or not.

yeah with burnout paradise and LBP I'm starting to see some good uses out of PS Eye. But if prices are ridiculous then no thank you lah

I bought the Eye from Play-asia with free airmail. RM130. took 2 weeks to deliver. In good condition. but not really using it now because it can't zoom otherwise it will capture my lovely wife in the webcam since it will shoot the whole bed in front of my HD TV. Dangerous..... if not pay full attention.

I've been actually wondering whether the Eye Toy could be used with the PS EYE games
Cause....
I've been using my Eye Toy! Used it as a mic/headset during the GTA4 days, and am able to use it to take pictures in Burnout!
It's even activated when I try the video chat application on the ps3

If it can be used, then i won't need a PS Eye!

PS3 motion sensor was the best IMO...comelah guys...the Micrsoft dudes are already ghey for NATAL and Milo

lets get ghey with the Sony's motion controller.

lol..i thought it already proven that PSEye can be use as motion sensor when they first released it(and plus with the addition of forthcoming EyePet). I dunno about the detail but it's seem more depend on software side for motion detection rather than hardware.




i got PS Eye, and bought several app & game to try out....all i can say, it get tired after awhile
