Try download the Combo Update and re-apply it. The one you got from Software Update is actually incremental update, where the Combo Update will cover all the previously released updates under one single combo file.

As for stack, could it be the number of applications affecting the animation?

Besides my Safari quit unexpectedly a few times already just now, saying that the cause is the flash plug in. I wonder what is wrong with the plug in? Does anyone face the problem like I do?
Anyway, the new update still doesn't fix the bug in Mail where some of the mails arrive doesn't trigger the mail arrival sound.
My safari behaves the same too. It sometimes quits unexpectedly when surfing YouTube
