Get the combo update from http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/mac...omboupdate.html

I updated mine in about 10 minutes, the mac will reboot twice during the process. After update, click Software Update to download and install Leopard Graphic Update as well.

After the graphic update, my mac takes more time to boot up, and the dock's Grid View animation becomes choppy.
Anybody has the same problem?

Just asking, if we get the *ahem* version, can we update too? What if our crappy Streamyx connection gets disconnected halfway? Am I able to redownload, or reupdate as usual?

Ran all the updates with no problem, although I did back up first. Noticed slightly faster Cinebench 10 benchmarks for MacPro Quad 3.0, but slower for iMac G5 1.8. Weird.

Nope, "ahem" doesn't mean 'hackintosh'. "ahem" is more like 'Pirates of the caribbean', if you know what I meant. So, that means it'll update regardless of which version and how many times I got disconnected? Wonderful

Try repair disk permission. Did you download the Combo or just use Software Update? It's better to use Combo Update.

The most obvious change I've noticed would be the addition of List View in the Stack. hmm.gif
Other than that are bug fixes I guess.

Try download the Combo Update and re-apply it. The one you got from Software Update is actually incremental update, where the Combo Update will cover all the previously released updates under one single combo file.

Three most apparent changes :-

1. iSync on Menubar
2. TimeMachine on Menubar
3. Additional view in Stack

These are the cosmetic changes where most users will notice.

I notice my MacBook takes slightly longer time to boot up after I upgraded it to 10.5.2. And I used to be able to open Safari window right after I click on it but now there seems to be a pause before the window appears. sleep.gif

Besides my Safari quit unexpectedly a few times already just now, saying that the cause is the flash plug in. I wonder what is wrong with the plug in? Does anyone face the problem like I do?

Anyway, the new update still doesn't fix the bug in Mail where some of the mails arrive doesn't trigger the mail arrival sound.

Tried that but it's still the same sad.gif Boot-up time still long...
As for stack, could it be the number of applications affecting the animation?
My application stack shows 9 columns, 6 rows... unsure.gif

Try downloading and installing Onxy on your mac. Use it to cleanup your kernel cache, i usually do this once a month do ensure a smooth and fast boot up.

yeah i have updated the laptop before the installation and i did it fresh installation sad.gif

i get corrupted error messages halfway in the process of the installation of windows xp.

Just to be clear since i m a full time newbie on mac, wat do u actually mean by fresh installation?

Wat i did was i cleared the partition drive which use to house my windows xp then i recreated a partition using the boot camp and followed by the usual steps on boot camp.

fresh install means "reformat partition and install leopard without upgrading". Btw, do you use the leopard bootcamp? you have to use that punya. bootcamp is under leopard installation dvd 1

Thanks for the explanation allvin smile.gif

I got my macbook in November 07, which is not long after they launched the leopard so my mac doesnt come pre-installed with the leopard os. I paid rm35 and got the upgrade DVD delivered to my doorstep.

So, can i reformat and reinstall leopard using the upgrade DVD?

oh and yea, i used the boot camp which was provided on the leopard.

Sigh, its so hard moving from a windows base to a mac rclxms.gif

yes..u can!

To perform a fresh / clean installation of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard to a totally blank/formatted hard drive using nothing but the upgrade DVD, do the following:

1. Boot from the Mac OS X Leopard Upgrade DVD (hold 'c' while booting).
2. Notice that the check for previous will fail (and "Continue" button is grayed out).
3. Choose the option of restoring from a Time Machine backup and go as far as you can (note: if you do actually have a Time Machine backup, pretend that you don't - making sure you've already removed any backup drives you may have plugged in).
4. Now go back to (almost) the initial screen.
5. Notice the "Continue" button is no longer grayed out...
6. Install Leopard while drinking a beer.

thanks hairol.. manage to do a fresh install but i ran out of beer smile.gif

Anyway i tried installing my windows xp via bootcamp again and it still doesn't work. I think its due to the scratches on my xp cd and not much of a bootcamp problem vmad.gif

Looks like i gotta run out to the 'dark side' and get a copy of vista instead sweat.gif

You format it via the Vista installer. Just delete the partition without formatting via Mac and you should be OK.

oh... biggrin.gif

by default, mac only can read NTFS, but cannot write. You need 3rd party application to make it write NTFS. Well, it is not apple fault, it is microsoft fault. Even linux also cannot write NTFS, but only since last few years ago, someone manage to develop it.

If you don't want to pay for Paragon NTFS, you can go with NTFS-3G. Works fine here.
