I notice my MacBook takes slightly longer time to boot up after I upgraded it to 10.5.2. And I used to be able to open Safari window right after I click on it but now there seems to be a pause before the window appears. sleep.gif

Besides my Safari quit unexpectedly a few times already just now, saying that the cause is the flash plug in. I wonder what is wrong with the plug in? Does anyone face the problem like I do?

Anyway, the new update still doesn't fix the bug in Mail where some of the mails arrive doesn't trigger the mail arrival sound.

Try download the Combo Update and re-apply it. The one you got from Software Update is actually incremental update, where the Combo Update will cover all the previously released updates under one single combo file.

Tried that but it's still the same sad.gif Boot-up time still long...
As for stack, could it be the number of applications affecting the animation?
My application stack shows 9 columns, 6 rows... unsure.gif

after the 10.5.2 update but before applying the graphics update, i noticed that a program im using, Spendthrift 3, took a massively long time to startup. however after the graphics update, everything was back to normal. dont really know what happened there...

otherwise everything else is fine with the update on my MBP

Try downloading and installing Onxy on your mac. Use it to cleanup your kernel cache, i usually do this once a month do ensure a smooth and fast boot up.

yeah i have updated the laptop before the installation and i did it fresh installation sad.gif

i get corrupted error messages halfway in the process of the installation of windows xp.

Just to be clear since i m a full time newbie on mac, wat do u actually mean by fresh installation?

Wat i did was i cleared the partition drive which use to house my windows xp then i recreated a partition using the boot camp and followed by the usual steps on boot camp.

fresh install means "reformat partition and install leopard without upgrading". Btw, do you use the leopard bootcamp? you have to use that punya. bootcamp is under leopard installation dvd 1

Thanks for the explanation allvin smile.gif

I got my macbook in November 07, which is not long after they launched the leopard so my mac doesnt come pre-installed with the leopard os. I paid rm35 and got the upgrade DVD delivered to my doorstep.

So, can i reformat and reinstall leopard using the upgrade DVD?

oh and yea, i used the boot camp which was provided on the leopard.

Sigh, its so hard moving from a windows base to a mac rclxms.gif
